Yes another world war if the human race had survive it might had added the same amount to our technology as the space program had done to date.

Tell me. How many wars have been waged since WWII?

@Intrepid,
it's had benefits for sure, but the sheer magnitude of the task makes it the pinnacle of achievement, the known world could have been discovered by accident given enough time (and let's face it some of it was), but nobody in a boat was going to set sail from florida and accidentally end up on the moon

Major ones zero , middle and small wars and conflicts beyond counting.

And technology is still being help along by them but not to the degree that the space program did or WW2 for that matter and it is somehow nicer and safer to have technology driven by some other reason then as a mean to kill other humans.

Not about fire. Not about speech. Not about writing. Not about agriculture. Not about animal domestication. Not about ...

Why would they want to?

Sure you can. Fire drew upon observations of fire in nature. Speech drew upon non-verbal communication. Writing drew upon speech and cave drawings. Agriculture drew upon hunting and gathering.

@DrewDad,
You seem to have an innate desire to be right and to win at all costs. What you describe were not achievements, they were products of nature.

Anyhow, I will not debate this any further as it is becoming wearisome and mundane.

That's a pretty good list. Except I would classify those things as inventions rather than achievements. Nobody set out with a goal in mind to create Writing, or Mathematics, or Pottery etc. Those were aspects of human culture which just evolved from our innate needs and abilities.

Landing a man on the moon seems like a very different thing to me. That was a true "achievement". We set a goal for ourselves and worked toward it and eventually achieved it.

Hi Guys!

Man stands on the moon, sunnyside-up, in a flimsy oversized white rompa-suit. No magnetic field to protect him from the massive rads from the sun, no gaseous layers to reduce the uv's... Nothing - but his little white suit. The world looks on, and says "Wow! We did it, we're on the moon!"

Are you serious???

Kindest of regards!
Mark...

@mark noble,
Right. As if things like "magnetic fields", radiation from the sun, and ultraviolet light really exist.

Pull the other one.

@mark noble,
Of course they did. It's just all those 'loco' folks who still believe that it was all a TV film. But then it's a free country, sow e are told. If those good folks want to believe what they want to believe in, then so be it. Just the same as some folks believe that '9/11' was an inside job by the US government - Do Turkeys vote for Thanks Giving, and is Santa Claus a real person. Some folks do believe this!!

Some folks even believe that the CIA, NASA, the US Government and Space Aliens have had Secret Space bases on Mars and the Moon since 1947 (Roswell Incident). Maybe some have been smoking too much 'Stuff, and drinking too much 'Moonshine!!'

@mark noble,
Of course US Astronauts set foot on the Moon. The loony tunes are ruining the asylum now. Well ruining it and running it. Maybe these same good folks still believe that the twin Towers on 9/11 was a conspiracy, an 'Inside Job'.

Maybe many good folks in the States and other places still believe that the US Senate is made of of alien shape shifting 7 foot green lizards from the planet Bollox'.

A bit like the current Tea Party-ists and other good folk who just don't like Mr Obama in the White House. Maybe Santa Claus is a Commie because he gives away free present to people and doesn't charge for this..... then there is the Easter Bunny. A curious character that pops up from time to time.... just like the Tooth Fairy.

We live in strange times when folks seem to want to believe in something, maybe Superman or Batman...... the simple truth is the good folks have been watching far too many Star Wars movies...!!!

@CostaCoffeeBob,
Please explain why Tower 7 collapsed in a perfect demolition manner, why was the derbish after WTC removed so quickly when it was to undergo an investigation?

How can a terrible pilot make an impssible inflight maneuver to ram Pentagon? Why were the drebish removed so quickly, how can ther jetturbines disappear? How come the entrance hole in Pentagon was circular and no traces of the wings nor turbines, the turbines would logically be left outside to be recoverd.
Why were the survaliance vids not synced? There are about 8 sec of unsynced display.

You have no clue what you are talking about, no evidence to refude our claims, only naive spekulation.

I have no reason to explain it when engineers have shown how and why the collapse occurred and it had nothing to do with demolition.

If it was a perfect demolition then perhaps you can explain the following.
Why were other buildings damaged from the collapse of WTC 7.
Why are there no sound recordings of the time that recorded the blasts required for a demolition?
Why were windows in surrounding buildings not broken by the blast from the demolition?

I would like to see documentary on how Tower 7 could "naturally" collaps in the wake of WTC.

- Tower 7 was an empty building, and had been empty for a while, if the support pillars had been pre-fixed prior 9/11, it woldn't take much to make the final damage to the support pillars, causeing a progressive collaps.
- you don't need a blast to make fatal damage to support pillars, pnumatic crush can also do it, which causes no shockwave as shaped charges or other kind of blast demolition. Or Termite can also do the job. There are many other possebilities.

..very simple.
