Dang, there goes Slappy's golden glove. Will ya settle for a silver thong?
Crotchless...silver thong?
If a thong is crotchless, uh, isn't it just a small string around the waist? Kinda like the sort of silver string that's used to wrap up bakery cake boxes?
Uh, yup. Pretty cool, huh?
I'll never look at an eclair the same way again.
I'd prepared myself to watch the Braves yesterday, despite the nice weather, but a cavalcade of early errors drove me outside. They wound making seven errors, including four by the third baseman, Mark DeRosa. One shy of the record for the position. Final score was 12-4, or some such atrocity.
And so ends a two-week road trip...
bonds actually had something to
say to the media last night, other than "get outta my locker!"
From what I read, he's denying everything (again) and saying he may retire in 2005. Sure he will, but only if he breaks Aaron's record by then...
d'art,
were you or weren't you rooting for big randy to get the perfecto last night
I think it is great - 13, 17 and 40 are the winning numbers.
Of course, 27 and 0, 0, 0 are always winning numbers too!
Hell of a feat for a 40 yr old, and against the Braves to boot. Listened to it on the car radio. My favorite method of taking in a game. Got tickets for the Marlins. Wanna see if they can repeat...hmmm
Yeah Bill, but you know, those Atlanta fans are pretty classy. They gave RJ a hell of a long standing ovation.
Would have been booed in Yankee Stadium. Yeah, the performance outweighs the wishes - what if it happened in September of a close race
I still like to see a maestro (or even a junk baller
) at work
The latest New Yorker magazine has a great article on knuckleballers and Wakefield in particular. Interesting reading.
I watched Randy do this thing vs. the Braves. I saw almost all the game (had to get home from work and do some chores) and all of the last few innings. Have to admit it was exciting, though I am a Braves fan. And the fans did cheer him--they haven't had a lot to get excited about this year, so what the heck...
can't wait to see a clemens-piazza battery at the all-star game:
clemens will be shaking piazza off repeatedly; piazza will lose his cool and put down his middle finger; clemens will cross piazza up by throwing a fastball instead of a changeup; pray there are no broken bats in the vicinity...
Would be fun, but I have a feeling that both will be under enough control not to let that happen.
While we're on the subject, is Nomar still leading the vote for AL shortstop? With all due respect, that pattern of voting suggests it may be time to rethink the whole process!
nomaah's wicked ahead of jeter
all-star voting updates.
