That's the glass half-full perspective, Bill. They're also tied for first...
I like my analysis better
(Notice I used Fenimore's spelling
)
i wrote:my better half reports she just saw a commercial for a commemorative a-rod quarter. you can own one for the bargain price of $10 (don't know if that includes S+H)...
saw the ad with my own

if you call "right now" they'll throw in
the derek jeter dime !!
I still don't get it: This is legal tender? Someone help me understand this!
Meanwhile, I guess the Bosox open tonight. Good luck!
saw the ad on the ESPNEWS channel.
pedro looked shaky last night -- he drilled david segui in the rib cage, apparently in retaliation for a spring training verbal exchange between the two...
Pedro did look shaky, but it must have been really cold last night. The sound was off at the pub I watched the game in, so I missed out on explanations of certain events. Such as Pedro vs. Segui...
Interesting...Thanks, Region!
lee mazzilli's first major managerial decision will be whether to plunk a bosock tmrw in retaliation...
They're supposedly friends(Pedro and Segui). I think he beaned him on purpose, because he was getting hit...and being friends doesn't matter on the field. That "verbal exchange" from spring training I heard was friendly, so I don't think that had anything to do with it.
Or maybe it did, pedro can be a bitch.
i switched over just in time to catch #659 from bonds last night.
they said jimy williams almost took oswalt out, but didn't.
bonds made them pay, swinging at the first pitch, launching a low-trajectory laserbeam shot over the rightfield fence.
That Astro loss last night was a bit demoralizing, but it didn't put a damper on the Opening Day festivities.
Pettitte goes tonight, and Bonds has never faced him before.
Should be fun.
That Astro loss last night was a bit more demoralizing
Poor pitching + bad fielding + weak hitting = loss.
I had a feeling things weren't going well for the Braves last night when Russ Ortiz's first pitch was knocked out of the park by the Mets' Matsui in his first major league at bat. Oh, well, it's a long season...
schilling looked to be in midseason form last night -- they said he thoroughly studied the oriole lineup in advance...
Sounds like he pitched a gem, Region. The Boston win and NYY loss helped me deal with Atlanta losing to the Mets...
i wasn't even gonna mention it, d'art
its waaaaaaaaaay to early...
2 games (Back to Astros) in early April can save a playoff in October - then again, I will take one playoff game in October right now
True, re it being too soon to be pessimistic. Yesterday morning, a guy in the bakery I go to asked me if I was a Braves fan (I had my cap on). When I said I was, he said that things didn't look good for them. "It's a little early for that, isn't it?" I replied, their first game not even played yet.
I'll try to keep that in mind!
