They're actually much quieter than immediately after the race. (Three cheers to Stewart Adams, the inventor of ibuprofen---if there was any justice in the world, they would have given the man a Nobel Prize long ago.)

Immediately after the race though, the dogs were indeed barking, and with great excitement. My worst moment came when a fellow finisher asked me to take her picture in front of the Manhattan skyline. I kneeled down to shoot her from just the right angle. Then, after the picture was taken, I had to struggle getting back up. No matter; I'm fine, if tired, now.

Nevertheless, I'm still nice-ish. You probably suck!

(Was that evil?)

Seriously though, I had a blast with you. Do come back anytime!

Glad you are feeling better.

Well, my New York adventure is all over bar the packing tonight and getting to the airport in time tomorrow.

I haven't really had the time to thank everyone for making the time to see me and be so lovely to me.

Jes comes in for special thanks for her organizing of the deli lunch.

Thomas, Joe, and tsar do for the amount of time they gave up to do stuff with me. I really enjoyed the time with you guys!! It was awesome to see frank and kicky, and that jes, region and lil k came all the way from Boston!!!

It was fantastic to meet legends like Boida......and Boida did the equivalent of a marathon in getting to the frying pan.

I really cannot say how lovely it has been to meet you all in the flesh and to experience your kindness and humor and evil teasing and feistiness.

You're all even better in the flesh....which is pretty remarkable.

As a special note to all of you who have been waiting and wondering and worrying....David's balls remain in place.
The g word never passed his lips! a gentleman.
Dlowan, I first read your spherical warning after I returned from our meeting,
but I was fairly confident that no one within earshot was interested
in discussing the subject matter of the g word; i.e., the subject did not come up.

(On other occasions, in other venues, someone has either questioned me,
asked for updates, or taunted me relating to some incident or another, but not this time.)

U have honored NY by visiting us, dlowan, all the way from Austrailia
and u provided us New Yorkers with an excuse to meet one another: THANK U.
Of the A2Kers present at the table, I had only been so fortunate to meet the Tsar for dinner.
I felt privileged and most blessed to have been seated next to u.

We will miss u in NY, but we will know our loss stands to Austrailia 's benefit in the return
of a very fine social worker and all around good person! Again: thanx for coming.

I wish u a safe and comfortable trip back to Austrailia tomorrow.
May the beauty in your life be exceeded only by your continuing JOY, dlowan!

@dlowan,
She probably has her own store by now. I wonder if she is a Disney character. Disney has its own stores now a days.

@Diane,
Un huh. The cheerful buzz of a room full of blowflies is what I'm betting on. That's why they all wear strings with corks on them, you know. Keep the flies away.

Im sure they sell that **** at the airport.

Years ago, I was working away from home for months and I did ALL my christmas shopping at the airport. I felt like a total ass hole and a fraud. My wife was very patient and we laugh about it NOW.

Goddamm , I still feel like whaleshit whenI think about it.

Do you still need this info? Hannah Montana/ Miley Cyrus is indeed Disney. A disney store would have hm stuff up the wazoo. Airport probably will if you find the right store. Target would. A drugstore probably would (CVS et al). A lot out there.
