It's a small hop for a wabbit, a giant leap for New-Yawk-and-Joisey-kind.

I just checked the World Clock, Deb, & it tells me that it's 8:30 am, Saturday in NYC.
Getting up anything interesting today?
And how's the jet lag this morning?

@msolga,
I don't think I'm lagged at all

Just about to have shower and get dressed and go suss out the area for coffee and food and subways and all

If I'd don't hear from no Noo Yawkers I'll likely trot (or hobble) down to central park and figure out what I want to see today

@dlowan,
Good morning from me, too, Deb! Smile

Glad you aren't jet-lagged. (I thought you said you might be.)
Enjoy your breakfast & your wanderings.

@sozobe,
Goddess how I hate that blister!!!!

They take a life of their own....you have to wrap them (it's my left little toe) to protect them...but I think the wrapping kind of makes them stick out a bit

Ieven bought some different shoes in London but they don't have the support I need so I can only use them for short walks

I'm using one of the weird new special blister bandaids and it helps....and I can ignore the pain for quite a while, but sometimes I just have to give in and stop doing stuff

Mind you, once Helen left London that meant I could do some nice restful stuff in London like sit and have scones and cream and tea in harrods.....at a ridiculous price....Helen can't ABIDE spending more than one should for something, whereas I can lap up silly atmosphere stuff like that and I was able to revel in a couple of silly things like that.

Peter and Paula are the same as Helen ....or peter is...I think Paula has a hidden me side, I have strongly advised her to go to the British museum shop WITHOUT Peter and get a glorious scarf she wants....heeeeheeeee

@msolga,
Don't mention breakfast!

I can't abide food before about eleven am, so I have missed out on scoffing all the amazing breakfasts included in the price of all the B and Bs and hotels we have been in

Dainty little Helen...vego and gluten intolerant and all...was able to put away vast amounts and save buying other meals to some extent

Mind you, since being on my own, I am finding I am often quite satisfied by just a late lunch, and don't need any other food

@dlowan,
Can you go grab some food and put it away for later?

@sozobe,
Oh, I'll be off in a bit hunting for some coffee and brekky....I didn't have dinner last night

I'll also be hunting for somewhere to buy some staples and fruit and salad and such and bring them back here

I'm just lazing around getting dressed and such

Maybe then the park and moma......

Actually I am luxuriating in having easy to access wi fi.....

Hi all. I'm looking into my options and figured I'd post up here to see if anyone who knows NYC better than I has any input. All the buses cost around the same amount and take around the same length of time to get to NYC. The bus stations are all about 1 mile from the deli.

#1 Peter Pan bus lets me off at 625 8th ave (port authority)
#2 Bolt Bus lets me off at 34th st and 8th ave (Penn Sta)
#3 Megabus lets me off at 7th ave and 28th st

@littlek,
I don't know if this factors into your decision, but I know that the Bolt Buses have free wi-fi on them and power outlets in the seats.

These are right above major subway hubs so I'd choose either of these two. Can't say I have ever used Bolt Bus. I have always used Peter Pan/Greyhound when going back and forth to Boston from New York. But Port Authority is a stereotypically scuzzy and dirty entry point into NYC (still safe). I prefer coming and going through Penn Station which is quite clean and easier to navigate in and out of when at least dealing with Amtrak.

What's the deli again? Hopstop can also give the best choice of subway routes to take so you can also choose which station is the best to enter NYC from depending on their relative nearby MTA proximity.
