@dlowan,
Something to keep in mind, bun...

I thought I used to know from pizza.

till you've had one in Chicago or (i've heard) NYC, you ain't had one...

Now I know why Boida's pigeons are so smart. they live near the museums.

That 's kinda risky; there r some FALCONS in that naborhood.
Thay can get a little ruff.

(I understand that the pigeons have been scrupulously
punctilious in their compliance with the Sullivan Law.)

@ehBeth,
Beth, there's a south american food thing you've mentioned somewhere, that I've never had... something like Areca? I seem to remember your liking them. Any south american cafe/stands?

@dlowan,
Oh...do you have to tip in Germany?

What's the current demand in the US, especially New York?

15% or 20% if the service was really good.

You are expected to tip in Germany, but not nearly as much as in America. A normal tip in Germany is 5%, a generous tip, 10%. Refusal to tip signals that you were very unhappy with the service.

For tips? The customary range here is 15--20%.

Tis a pity they don't pay their employees properly, so they don't have to beg!
