Is it just me or do you seem to lose weight overnight too?
I swear, I am thinner in the mornings...and not just because I am hungry. I mean, I am thinner because I've lost weight.

Sure... all that time of using energy but not taking in any new energy sources.
If I step on the scale I usually do so first thing in the morning, for the most optimistic number possible.

Yep. It's a longer time period between meals when you go from dinner (or a late snack, even) to breakfast versus other between meal periods.

I am also somewhat dehydrated after a long sleep. Really, I have to force myself to drink right after getting up.

Over night through sweating and respiration you might lose 1 lb.
It's advised that the best time to weigh yourself is after you use the toilet and before you start eating or drinking water.
Way back when overnights were much more fun, I'll bet I was thinner in the
morning, too. Heavy sigh.
