Bob Rea,

Charles had another bad seizure on Friday and went to the hospital. Today he was transferred to the San Diego Hospice.
He went down hill really fast the last two weeks.
He recognizes my voice and try's to talk to me but can't really form a sentence. I asked him if he was ok and he said he was prefect. He can no longer see.
It is now just a mater of a day or two. He is not eating or drinking any fluids.

Sorry to send such bad news. My only solace is he will no longer be in pain.
Sometime in the near future I will be spreading his ashes in Brewster...at his request!

I will call you when he finally passes...

Joe

Charles is 51 yrs old; I've had 3 brothers, Now I will be the only one left.

Charles was taken of life support last night, he had suffered from a subdural hemorrhage for the past 8 years.

I am so sorry to hear that, Dys. It's so hard when you're far away
and can't be with your brother in his final moments.
My deepest sympathy!
hugs

Brothers are the treasures we are given to help us make our way through life... I'm sorry for your loss.

If you need to go out of town and need someone to feed the critters while you're gone, let me know.

@dyslexia,
Dyslexia

You took a look around your garden and found an empty place
and thought about your brother and saw his painful tired face,
you put your arm around your brother to let his spirit rest
in your beautiful garden because it's filled with only the best,
you knew your brother was tired and a cure was not to be
I closed his weary eyelids letting his gentle spirit enter me,
tearfully I thought about his suffering as he slowly slipped away
although I always loved him dearly I knew him could not stay,
it broke my heart to lose him but he was never left alone
part of me will go with him as I scatter his ashes at Brewster home.

That is terrible news, dys. 51 is way too young for an exit.

Dys, if and when you feel able, and if you want to, would you tell more about your brother and his life here? I've always liked hearing about him, though some of what he has been through is hard.
