@Wilso,
Bertrand Russell said it first.

And condensed it into a single sentence:

With all the religions in the world espousing their different beliefs, logic dictates that only one of them can be right. (Paraphrased)

@neologist,
Like the atheist said to monotheist, I only believe in one less god than you - and you sneer at the polytheists.

What if no religions are correct, but there still is a God?

Exactly! My view is that religions are ment to keep us away from real spirituslity. Thety have nothing to do with that. Most religions are prisons for the mind ( and soul), to keep people in line.

@neologist,
I actually find that slightly more believable than any of the gods the religions known to me describe.

Just how paraphrased was that? (No, i'm not oign to take the time to look it up.) A more accurte statement would be: With allthe religions in the world espousing their different beliefs, logic dictates that not more than one of them can be right.

Because, of course there is an equal probability that none of them are right.

@Setanta,
I think you must be right.
To be fair, I have spent considerable time trying to find his exact quote. Yours seems a lot more likely

@neologist,
If you dont believe in the powers of love it makes you a hater lol.

If you don't love is godly then you are missing out on the potential of love and you are hating.

Not funny, actually. It demeans basic human nature.

Jesus was speaking to all at Matthew 7:9
Quote:
. . . which one of you, if his son asks for bread, will hand him a stone?

@neologist,
Are you defending hate as a human nature? It has a moral bone as well... but it's always gonna be the lack of love.

Love needs to consume hate with virtues, or hate will do it without them.

@MWal,
It's really surprising to see people like you who hasn't realized the fact that hate is part of humanity. Suicide bombers think they're sacrificing themselves for their god, and will be met by 72 virgins when they enter heaven.

@cicerone imposter,
Hate is anti-humanity. Only love brings us together, brother.

If you notice hate is always the lack of something just like atheism. The un-nature of the non existing anti-Christ.

@MWal,
You wrote,

You probably fail to understand past and current history of the human animal.

Do you understand what crime is? Do mothers kill their own children?
Have humans eaten other humans in our history? Was the holocaust a fairy tale? Have you ever heard of ISIS?

What more proof do you need? Hate is part and parcel of the human animal, and it's humanity whether you can appreciate that fact or not!

All examples of barbarianism or anti-humanity. Don't you see how humanity represent life, and all you gave me were examples of destruction.

@MWal,
I gave you examples of destruction, because that's normal/natural human behavior. We are animals on this planet; ethics, good or bad, humanity/inhumanity are human words to describe the real world. FYI, it's here to stay for the duration. Religious belief is an oxymoron. That's why our so-called christian country can commit to illegal wars with other sovereign countries that ends up killing tens of thousands of innocent men, women and children. THOSE ARE FACTS YOU MUST LIVE WITH.

That's demonic behavior. We don't need to accept it, and it can be weaves out.
