You've lost me.

Nothing to get lost over, Anon.

Advocate was essentially saying that agnostics are cowards...as compared with his brand of atheists, who are brave.

Madalyn Murray O'Hair, noted atheist, often used to say the same thing: "Agnostics are just atheists with no guts."

Not all atheists play that game.

I was just calling him on it.

No major problem.

@anonymously99,
You must remember that Frank's primary base for opinions are "guesses."
He's also not sure of reality - even if he's able to post his opinions on a2k, and have intercourse with others.

A note to advocate, you can trivialize my belief system if that suits you. I was trying to describe a belief system that was developed and introduced when I was very young. I will not urge anyone to pray, I think most people have a personal time, meditation, nap whatever. If I find comfort with the rosary, why is that amusing to you? Why does it matter, I'm not proselytizing, I don't care what others believe as long as they leave me alone.

But if you get a chuckle that I phrased my comment as I did, knock yourself out.

So...what is a "hard-core atheist?"

I'm unable to speak for Edgarblythe, but my personal belief with respect to his, regarding the existence of a god, is interchangeable. My assessment of a "hard-core atheist" is one who is unwavering in his/her central belief that there is no god.

I believe mankind is a product of Nature, outliving similar humans that came before today's "out-of-Africa" modern humans. I believe life may be consubstantial throughout the Universe, only far more advanced because in theory these civilizations may have existed far longer; our home, Earth, is so very young in contrast to other galaxies; wherever there exist the same set of conditions that helped shape life on earth, surely within this vast Universe, there are far more advanced intelligent beings.

The Universe is an astronomical mystery, which, *theoretically,* has always reinvented itself ad infinitum.

THE NEW GIANTS
Perhaps some atheists have got a grudge because they think God doesn't care about them or has no use for them, yet many are risking their necks in the conservation movement and anti-government protests to make the world a better place, so perhaps they can trace their DNA back to ancient giants-
"There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown" (Genesis 6:4)

Jeremiah ch 1: 4-9- "The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart
..
Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”
But God said “Do not say, ‘I am too young'.
Today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”

@cicerone imposter,
A non jealous God has no traction ci. If the rules are not strict they have no point and that is particularly important when the rules cover the forbidding of tempting activity.

The football team managers are jealous to protect their positions, as are employers. In either case allowing their players and staff to succumb to obvious temptations such as not training very hard or skiving around at work quickly leads to the loss of their position. It is what a badly run company means and you would be the first to withdraw your investment or cease to buy its products.

The word God implies the jealousy. The phrase "jealous God" is a tautology and its only use is propaganda designed to associate God with jealousy, a negative term, in the minds of not very well educated people. Like "evil" and "cruel".

At your age it is easy being "good". It is not so easy for young men and women.

What the evangelical atheist wants is anarchy in the sexual field and what he or she ought to do in order to be honest is to promote that anarchy as an alternative to puritanism. Which I can do but don't because I have little faith in its economic and social advantages over what we have now. But I am open to debate on the matter.

Talking about pigeons is for pigeon brains.

The only thing you achieve with the endless crap you spew out is to prove you're level headed enough to dribble **** out of both sides of your mouth at the same time. My god you're **********.
