I thought Jesus has ALREADY taught us everything?-
"Jesus gives us all we need for life" (2 Peter 1:3)

Huh, I don't think I'd like to be in the flip-flopping JW's if they keep changing their tune to look good to the world..Smile
The Mormons are the same, constantly flipping away to suit the pol-correct climate-
Take#1- "Cain, Ham and the whole Negro race have been cursed with black skin, the mark of Cain, so they can be identified as a "caste apart". A people with whom the other descendants of Adam should not intermarry." (Mormon Doctrine, Elder Bruce R. McConkie, pg. 114)

Take#2 "Forget everything that I have said, or what President Brigham Young or President George Q. Cannon or whomsoever has said in days past that is contrary to the present revelation. We spoke with a limited understanding and without the light and knowledge that now has come into the world"
(Mormon Elder Bruce R. McConkie in an address to a Symposium for Seminary and Institute teachers, Brigham Young University, 18 Aug. 1978)

@neologist,
Speaking as a Christian, I suspect all denominations have had a racist history. It's distressed me to no end. Why single out the JWs?

Better to change when the light brightens than to stand firm in a lie. How many nominal christian sects still adhere to the trinity doctrine in spite of mountains of contrary evidence?

Jehovah Witness Neologist called me a racist, so I simply pointed out that his JW's have racist roots, and for good measure I also said the same about Mormons, so I'm not singling anybody out..Smile

@panzade,
I only just read that ken ham is an Australian. A former teacher, and a queenslander. My sincere apologies. Apparently the debate was merely about getting enough money to stave off bankruptcy forhis ' dinosaurs in Eden build an ark' project. Bill Nye was a patsy/stooge.

He didn't say or imply that it proves anything. This is pathetic, a thread about the experience of atheism and it's overrun by a bunch of loony god-botherers.

@Setanta,
Arguments from authority are useful, of course. But a noted minister deserting his 'flock' is really no different than a well known atheist proclaiming he or she has found the lord. There are logical reasons for disbelief as, IMO, there are reasons for belief.
