@Calamity Dal,
Oops! That's right. I promised these folks I'd stay on my side of the street.

It's just that Romeo is such a juicy target.

Well I don't much like violent militant gays but I like nice easygoing gays!
And if an abortion is absolutely medically necessary I'm not against that..Smile

PS- I'm currently watching Derek Jacobi's rivetting performance as Hamlet, he's gay but it doesn't bother me..Smile

At 1:26:00- "To be..."

@Wilso,
He can't, because he's a blind, stupid, ignorance, homophobic bigot without any sense of decency against those he sees as his inferiors - all learned from his religion or politics.

@Calamity Dal,
Look at the beginning post, Calamity Dal -

it was meant as a discussion place for atheists in a forum with many atheist threads already, full of arguments with religious people posting.

http://able2know.org/topic/141106-1

I long ago stopped responding to religious invasion on this particular thread.
Some of us atheists believe in standing up and arguing here; of course, it's their right, but not what the thread was meant to be about. The thread would be shorter without all the belligerent invasives, but, to me, a more interesting conversation.

Yes. Christian theology falls into a cloud of dust.

God does not wipe out homosexuals ci. As you might see from the papers. And if He did in the old days it was only those who made a public spectacle of themselves as they had in a nearby nation which had been pillaged by the Romans and subjected. God, unlike the State, has no interest in consensual acts between adults in the privacy of their rooms.

You might be using a blanket term for a small section of homosexuals who wish to parade their condition. It catching on, as it had next door, was not to be countenanced.

The threat of stoning presumably being sufficient to deter such displays. Were any homosexuals actually stoned that you know of?

The perverted Sodom/Gomorrah type, they surrounded Lots house demanding he send out his two male guests so they could "have" them.
Their kind exist even today, dirty perverts revelling in filth and doing stuff like demanding schoolkids to be taught that it's fine to be gay, and same-sex couples hijacking the marriage ceremony, and setting up stings to sue christian hotel owners who refuse to let them stay, etc.
As i've said before, loud noisy gays are their own worst enemies by turning all decent people against them.
Maybe they think they'll get an easy ride when Islamic law is imposed in some areas of cities, but i doubt it.
At the moment Christianity is the only friend they've got, but even christian patience may run out one day..

Posters like this sometimes appear on British streets-

@Romeo Fabulini,
Christianity is the only friend they've got? Last I looked, atheists didn't care one way or another who is having sex with whom (or who?- never worked this out). Your arrogance is breathtaking.

@Romeo Fabulini,
If you were born in Saudi Arabia, you'd be a muslim. If you were born in Israel, you'd probably be jewish. If you were born in India, you'd probably be a Hindu. Your religion is little more than a geographical accident of birth.

That's right Wilso. I was born in England and so I'm a Christian.

Atheists are obviously of no nationality or culture. Whatever country they are born in they have, of necessity, to be all the same. Which might explain why they are viewed with suspicion by Muslims, Jews, Hindus and Christians.

It is at least one thing they all agree about apart from not caring, one way or another, who is having sex with whom. Even monkeys care about that you know. And elephants. To name two examples.

Yes it plays a part but plenty of people do cross-religion hopping, for example a white christian girl down our street became a muslim and started going round in a burka, the silly cow..Wink

My parents weren't religious but I think my dad respected Jesus because I saw him watching 'Jesus of Nazareth' on TV from behind his newspaper.
And once when my mam wouldn't give our cat a morsel off her plate I jokingly said to her "Jesus won't like you" and she replied "I don't care about bleddy Jesus!", but i think she did really.

At school we were taught about Jesus and thought he was basically alright but he never seemed to have much fun.
Davy Crockett was our Main Man, he killed him a bear when he was only three, how kool is that!!
But as I got older I realised JC was far from boring and was almost as fantastic as Davy, so i've strung with him ever since..Smile

@Romeo Fabulini,
If there is one thing I respect is someone willing to undergo extreme life change in the interests of serving god.
It is far better to commit wholeheartedly to a lie than to commit halfheartedly to a truth.

@reasoning logic,
not at all, It is all about perspective.

We cannot all be correct, a man will serve god to the end with fervor and selflessness, only to find he was wrong when the end comes, but better is he than the one whose beliefs are correct, and though he has a form of godly devotion, he proves himself to be self serving, ignorant of his gods requirements.

I say we ought all to live as decent a life as possible...with regard for ourselves; the others around us; the planet and its other beings...

...and that should satisfy ourselves...and any GOD that might exist.

If a god needs more than that...just take your lumps when life is all over...and acknowledge that a god not content with that is not worthy of worship.
