@Frank Apisa,
As well as it can be explained Frank.
...Not scolding dear Osso but there are many posters who naively believe they can control the tone and civility of posts...and sometimes even the content!!
It's simple. As Frank said: "Just don't go there!"

@Frank Apisa,
This is a thread for atheists to talk among ourselves. I'm fine here.

Meantime, I said I was sorry for scolding so much. Go ahead hit me on the head. On the other hand, I'd say no one loves arguing endlessly as much as you do, but you have competition.

@Frank Apisa,
Now Frank. It's common knowledge that A2k has become the habitat of a new species in the evolutionary tree, namely: Homo Argumentusschnookus Ask farmer. He knows. And we all should be proud for our place in hysteria.

Panzada, Neo...and most especially Ossobuco...

...I apologize for the tone of my last post. I was over-the-top.

I do tend to be like a pit bull at times...and it is appropriate to have others mention that.

Weather is not very nice...golf is probably something that may be done until next spring...my sense of humor is raggedy because of that.

My bad.

That all very well but Apisa has managed to associate himself with a macho image and he's actually a bit of a wuss.

I can't imagine why he felt that the tone of his post was OTT. It seemed perfectly reasonable to me. Maybe he was just pretending it was OTT to provide the excuse for the "pit bull" image. The tone is not the substance of the post and thus he has not apologised for that.

Apologising for it so abjectly is very wussy.

Pop a cool one for me, Frank.
Seahawks won't destroy the Giants until next week.
Plenty of time to lament after that. Laughing

Actually in my experience many men who appropriate the macho image are actually a bit of a wuss...if by that you mean he wears his heart on his sleeve.

To paraphrase....
I find it morally objectionable for survivors of a catastrophe to believe that they were spared by a loving God while this same God drowned innocent children in their cribs.

Could be they take no note of Solomon's words at Ecclesiastes 9:17 that "time and unforseen occurrence" befall everyone.

Yes...well that exonerates a loving God...as a matter of fact it removes God from all occurrences IMO.

Many fail to realize the God who created this world is not currently directing its affairs.

Even more fail to realize there is no way to know there is (or was) a GOD who created this world.

Jesus said "My Father is always working" (John 5:17) but he didn't elaborate.
Perhaps he meant God is tweaking evolution to keep it on track, or perhaps it means God is working like a bouncer to try to keep unwelcome squatters out of our minds?
Jesus said- "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it.
Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.'
When it arrives, it finds the house empty, swept clean and put in order.
Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there."- (Matt 12:43-45)
