@tenderfoot,
That's not your usual style tf. I suspect you borrowed it from somewhere and you'll easily get to heaven if you perfect the skill.

I'm already in heaven Spendy... have been for the last 80 years... will be maggot food in the near future and perhaps send some of them to a eating heaven, like you will be eventually. Perhaps those few words will get you down on your knees again... I'm sure if you pray hard enough, you'll get a seat next to a few popes.. perhaps even your Jesus.

Don't bring up royalty spendy .. spent $50 and traced my family name back 1066 where it was brought over from France-Germany, have a stupid family crest and guess what all that information is as useful as a corn on my big toe, I'm still a 80 year old atheist twit who loved reading the old Abuzz and now Able2know, who loves life and don't really care a stuff whether there's is a god or not and glad neither can be proved, as then there wouldn't be anything to argue about ;-))

@tenderfoot,
Your'e a twit alright if you spent $50 to trace back one pair of ancestors out of what must be a few thousand other pairs of ancestors, following the male line exclusively, a good few of whom would likely have been **** shifters, illegal immigrants, pimps, prostitutes on the Campagna sea-front and altar boys. And some of them might well have been foundlings or been adopted. Or got mixed up in the maternity ward.

Odd how you home in on the pair with a family crest isn't it? Hints of blue blood for us all to ponder.

That's useful information. tenderfoot is a snob. And a misogynistic one at that. I'll bear it in mind.

Thanks. I bet you're only an atheist because it isn't common.

@spendius,
All of which you knew very well, as a scientific type, before you shelled out 50 bucks.

The people who trouser all the accumulated dollars know where all the family crests are buried in the sands of time. They should do because they placed them there and are skilled at guiding their punters to the right spot so that the inherent snobbery is chucked under the chin in return for the cash.

A pal of mine bought a rather elaborate certificate and had it framed and placed on the wall in his living quarters.

And now Spendius will start a ramble about odds.

@ossobuco,
No I won't. There's about 65,000 ancestors just going back to 1600. Assuming no incest.

What I might ramble about is what a good writer would offer instead of "**** shifters, illegal immigrants, pimps, prostitutes on the Campagna sea-front and altar boys". A decent writer would stop at the "have been" and think of the possibilities a list of ancestors might include which emphasises the point he is making in a witty and skilful way. He wouldn't write the first things that came into his head as I did because I was pushed for time. Flaubert would have been up three nights after his "have been".

He would seek the appreciation of good readers just as a pianist with his arpeggios seeks the appreciation of expert musicians. Tin ears not counting as Stendhal insisted.

@ossobuco,

Hi Ossobuco.
I think this got to poor Spendy when I said......

(Will be maggot food in the near future and perhaps send some of them to a eating heaven, like you will be eventually. Perhaps those few words will get you down on your knees again... I'm sure if you pray hard enough, you'll get a seat next to a few popes.. Perhaps even your Jesus.)....

I think, when he got up off his knees and staggered over to his bar stool, stared moodily into his pot of beer, as he sudden realized ( being a Catholic ) ... his heaven had heaps of pedophile priests, bishops, popes. And everyone there from angels up, were male. be devastating to him, as we all know Spendy loves putting down females and getting his sexual kicks from repeating it over and over on Able2know.
Can't wait for the next barrage of condescending machine gun fire from old softy.

@cicerone imposter,
They can't let a person drop out without some vindictive pronouncements. However, I don't know any reliable statistics on this. Bertrand Russell was as old as the hills when he expired.
