Do you think it might be a cure for theistic psychosis?

Thank you for sharing, It does seem to be interesting news.

The new particle has a mass of about 125.3 billion electron volts, as measured by the CMS group, and 126 billion according to Atlas. Both groups said that the likelihood that their signal was a result of a chance fluctuation was less than one chance in 3.5 million, “five sigma,” which is the gold standard in physics for a discovery.

Anybody here who thinks that they understand that is under a delusion which hasn't got a name yet in public because it is called ED (egotistical dementia) and it isn't thought popular to mention it. Hence it goes under-reported and usually un-diagnosed.

And only a very uncouth person would think of suggesting that looking for the God particle in the salubrious setting where the CERN project is located is a form of occupational therapy for those who specialised in difficult subjects at school because they couldn't strike a fast fizzer through the covers to the boundary for a four under the critical gaze of the Littlehampton Ladies Cricket Supporters Association sitting in front of the heavy roller shed drinking liquid stimulants through straws and sifting the silly sods with their elbows on the starched white tablecloths and determination written all over their pretty little faces.

Dropping a skier in front of them is enough for any man to wish that the ground will swallow him up. That's why Americans have mitts. It is to use a cheap trick to minimise the risk of dropping a catch because it is not PC for American men to feel so down-hearted and low. Obviously anti-evolutionary. The split second hand/eye co-ordination ratings chart is obfusticated and that is a significant factor in how females sift. Hence the popularity of athletes over physicists.

You will agree that that is a self-evident fact rl?

I never claimed that I understood it but I am not so naive to think, there is no one out there that might have a much better understanding of it than I.

@reasoning logic,
Try asking around. The idea that you think someone out there has a better understanding of it than you do is an early sign of ED.

Gibberish means no understanding. You can't get better understanding than none with gibberish.

Speaking of gibberish, why do you insist on ******* up this thread?

@edgarblythe,
Because atheists have passed the hat round through the IRS and are having it off with a few billion of our dough and counting and the God particle is in the Bible and contributions to that are voluntary.

@spendius,
That's probably based on several facts: churches/religions are 'charitable' organizations under the tax rules, and there is that concept of the separation of church and state.

What most conservatives fail to understand is that secularization is based on the idea that the state has taken over the social responsibilities once was overwhelmingly carried by the church. That by no means transfer that idea as "socialism" as most conservatives call them. It's about caring for your brothers and sisters. Isn't that one of the tenets taught by the church?

Not really. Who in their right mind would care for anybody who is determined to **** everything up.

It's absolutely ridiculous that heretics were persecuted by evil people looking for somebody to persecute and had nothing to do with the fact that they were dangerous to all brothers and sisters.

The fact that you have held that position for nigh on 70 years doesn't make it any the less ridiculous you silly old gumpy head.

It looks like the Saint Augustine and Aquinas ideology is alive and well in you spendius. You are by today's standards a perfect example of where Christianity went wrong.

That's an assertion rl and, as such, has no standing in discussions between intelligent people. Where did Christianity go wrong?

When Christians feel under the delusion that people like Saint Augustine and Thomas Aquinas should lead them. It is like the blind leading the blind.

@reasoning logic,
What's wrong about the blind leading the blind? If there is then you have answered the question--"where did Christianity go wrong" with "when it went wrong". Which is silly Billy shite.

What could it have done right instead of what it did?

Well you could be somewhat correct here if you think they did the best that they understood "if we take into consideration that man is evolving morally or should I say that some people are achieving a better understanding of moral philosophy and over time they are able to get others to see their points of view.

With all that said, what a Christian could do to have a better understanding of natural law and moral philosophy is to study them and know that they may be wrong in much of what is believed and question everything, "this includes their own belief system.

The general sense of things in England rl is that anybody answering those two questions in the manner that you have, after raising them yourself, is to phone 999 and ask for the White Coat Department.

Are they not so compassionate in the US and force you to go through life in such a ******* idiotic state of mind.

Once you assert that certain fallacies have impeded humanity for centuries a scientific mind will ask you to explain what you mean and not just assume the assertion is true. The assertion is the premiss on which the general position is based and with no explanation as to its validity any conclusion drawn from it is objectively bullshit.

What are the fallacies?

How have they impeded humanity for centuries?

What alternatives were on offer?

Are we talking about all inherited beliefs or just a few which the silly sod finds inconvenient and most likely related to sexual morality?

Who'd a thunk 3,000 years ago that Bronze Age myths would still be taken seriously in the 21st century?

@FBM,
Humanity needs myths and fables and mysteries and fairy stories and fantasies and romance and yarns and tall tales and song and dance and superstition and pot boilers and story-telling and the improvisation stimulating imaginations and powering invention.

Is that not an obvious scientific fact which stands out in the study of human behaviour.

Some people consider that those whose egotistical indignations drive them to denying those traditions to avoid being considered gullible are fools but will allow that they are very precious little dears indeed.

Their righteousness is very touching I must say and there's not much in this world more amusing than seeing it expressed with eye-popping red faces with the vein in the temple pulsing away like billyoh.

Love it FBM. The startling originality is admirable and I feel sure it will take you places.

@spendius,
The reason there are no records before the bronze age is because people hadn't got into religion much before.

Had the situation continued without religion it is a reasonable assumption that nobody would yet know there had been a Bronze Age or that it was 3000 years ago.

As for informing the A2K viewers of those two amazing facts on this machine you can absolutely forget it mate. You can probably forget reaching the ripe old age you have done as well and having such long experience to be able to claim a God who you don't believe exists.

Are we supposed to define human life using new-fangled instruments?
