OK, here's mine. Le Cobusier's chaise longue. The original, from the Bauhaus.

Why? Well the design is perfect & it looks mightily comfortable.
It would be the only piece of furniture in a perfectly-sized room ... not another thing in there, apart from a well chosen plant, perhaps. The room would have no other distracting features, would be painted a neutral off-white colour & have polished floorboards. A quiet place, lit by sunlight, for thinking, reading & meditation ... Perfect! Smile

I have one!

Well - only a copy - but I love it. Great for reading, etc. Needs a table or something beside it for a drink.

Mind you - it's now banished to the spare room, as a new lounge took up it's space. It's in the dining room now (guests in spare room) and will stay there until I have dinner guests, when it'll have to go to it's room again!

Now - like Deb - I'm longing for a place down the coast. I've just spent a week at my friend's place - and, while he's happy for me to use it (which makes it cheap for me!) - I'd just love one of my own.

Preferably on that part of the coast, Kiama - just south of Sydney. I used to go down there well before he bought the apartment. It's a seaside town, sitting near a beautiful bit of countryside. Great beaches, often almost empty.
This is from the road coming into town:

@margo,
You actually have one, margo?

And you've banished it to the spare room? Surprised Shocked

I know I said I wanted the actual original Bauhaus model that Le Corbusier's hands had actually touched <sigh> .. but heck, I'd settle for a replica! (which was actually the point of his designs .. good factory-made replicas.)

Half ya luck.

I'm jealous.

I really hope your cat is not sharpening its claws on it, margo.

I have this strong feeling, margo, that you are actually going to achieve this.
What do you reckon are the chances?

@msolga,
OK, I desire an 11th Commandment, to wit:
Thou shalt spell foneticly.

I wonder if I can begin negotiations to get that.

I'm wondering who you'd actually negotiate with to achieve this, David. Smile

Roberta, there are lots of people who would love to have a "babysitter" for
their dog while they're working or on vacation. They even pay good money
for that, you should look into it.

Mine came from King Furniture (are they in Melbourne?) some years ago, on sale at about one third off the full price.

Possum sleeps on it occasionally. Interestingly, the only place he sharpens his claws is on my bed base - which is in tatters! Evil or Very Mad Little bastard!
