20 Below, huh? Guess that's why we moved to Texas, from Michigan. Our old bones began to hate that cold damp weather. Last summer's draught and unusually high temperatures were, I swear, worse than the cold, though. Nobody told me the Texas Hill Country was so humid - arrrgh, that hurts the bones, too.
The housing costs less here, but Texans might have to put in more insulation, install more energy efficient windows and, most important, put those heating ducts down the inside walls so's the vent is floor level, instead of in the ceilings. Gads, the air today was chilly by the time it reached halfway down. (fireplace is blazing still).We got an estimate for that "mud" foam insulation (sprayed in the attic rafters) - $3500.
