@neologist,
At least when I drink Bud, I don't have to hold it upside down to keep the froth on top! LOL

I'd agree most wholeheartedly. The US old timers suffer from dryness and inadequate hopiness, precisely factors stepped up in many of the newer brews, especially IPA's, ales, hefes, etc

It's an interesting observation of my Better Half, incidentally, that the growth of the market in such brews at our friendly Local Supermarket has by proportion reduced the supply of lagers and pilsners, at least out here in the desert

So I'm really grateful to our two sons and some of our dearest friends living in the Big City who often bring a remarkable assortment, including exotic imported lagers. As some are expensive we've offered to reimburse but to no avail

@dalehileman,
You'd be wrong on all counts! I've drunk beers from many countries around the world; more than you'll ever consume!

Bud ranks about 30 of the world's beers; there are probably, literally thousands. It's about the best distributed beer in the US.

Finally, as with taste for food, wine, and beer, everybody has their own favorites. To declare that my choice is wrong is somewhat boorish to the
extreme.

Cis I wouldn't be too sure about that at 83

Sorry Cis but apparently that's a typo. A quick Googling wasn't very successful but don't you mean "ranks among 30 of the world's top-selling brews"

Forgive me again Cis but thousands of what

Yes that could well be. Too bad about the typical American palate

My apologies once again Cis, just couldn't resist

I do somewhat prefer Pilsner Urquell to the extreme

That you are the judge of all Americans who drink Bud is beyond the pale.

Still again, no intent at negativity, but if you reread your sentence you will see it doesn't make sense, there seem to be words missing

My first reaction was, why should Bud be ranking other beers and why only 30 amongst thousands

But then I supposed you must mean "at about 30," and indeed I found it ranked by one survey at No. 21

@dalehileman,
Okay, "at about 30." Are u happy?

From Wiki:Biggest consumers of beer.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_beer_consumption_per_capita

Of the 49 listed, I miss seven countries in which I had not had a beer.

@neologist,
No, never heard of the place. Well, I have a bunch of experience in many countries, but I'll never be a "nation unto myself." Mr. Green

I've traveled enough miles to have circled this planet about 30 times - having visited over 200 countries and 89 unique ones. I've never been disappointed in any of my trips; have been very pleasurable and educational in every respects, and hope to continue until my health takes a nose-dive.
