@dalehileman,
We don't have it on draught over here. We drink it by the pint as well.

In Prague it's available on draught and sold by the litre.

I'm sure Budweiser is too.

@Ticomaya,
Original Budweiser is, but not the American stuff.

@Ticomaya,
It's the same here (and now, they are doing it in the England as well).
The reason is quite simple: it's not pasteurised.

(We had it as duty free beer in the navy - draught as well as bottled.)

Speaking of American "Bud"
Is America facing a beer crisis?
Tommorrow Budweiser is investing millions in their (5) Super Bowl ads.They're hoping they can turn around falling beer sales.
The demographics show young adults are turning to wine and liqueur causing beer sales to flatten.

The only thing keeping sales up is the microbreweries that turned out 1,000 new products last year, but at higher prices.
Stay tuned.

@panzade,
That's not the only sporting event they're investing millions in.

@panzade,
Pan, whatever we might think of their flavor, canned Coors, Bud, or Miller is advertised in a recent Target flyer at $17.99 a pack of 30. That's only 60 cents each

Does anybody drink that at a football match?

@panzade,
I don't know. I watch the small screen. All this stuff is aimed at the next generation of beer drinkers anyway. When someone goes into a pub for the first time they tend to order what they've heard on the telly.

When I've been in a pub that sells it, it's the young lads who are drinking it.

@izzythepush,
Just because they're sponsoring the FA Cup doesn't mean the clubs have to stock the beer. This is my local clubs hospitality brochure and the four draught beers (1 cider) are Grolsch, Worthingtons, Carling Black Label (Not a lot better than Bud) and Magners (cider).

@panzade,
There are better English beers. This brewery is just down the road. They should be buying local.

You may be asked your d of b before you can enter.

@izzythepush,
I associated Ringwood only with "roundabout" (from my time there in the 60's) ... but last time, we had had a break at the brewery pub when driving back from the New Forest. Wink

@neologist,
Welcome to the thread neo.
I'd heard of it but never saw it.
Quote:
For those who may not know the backstory, in the 1950's, some of the Old Guard, especially Ballentine, started coming out with Holiday/Christmas beers and Pittsburgh B. C., still headquartered in Da ' Burgh, wanted to follow suit, but they had neither the time to develop a special recipe nor to devote tank space to one, even if they could.

It was then decided to put Arn (Iron City Beer) in a special CAN and promote it as a Holiday Ale.
Wiser marketing men said that this was tantamount to foul play and might result in a LOT of negative publicity, so they hit upon a more tongue-in-cheek CANpaign and so Olde Frothingslosh was born.

Sir Reginald von Allegheny was their first spokesman, followed by the Divine-like Lady Fatima Yechblah, whose 300 + pound frame was squeezed into a one-piece bathing suit and photographed in "Perils of Pauline"-like poses, such as bound and gagged on railroad tracks.

After a period of time, it fell out of favor and the CANs have become collectors items. In the last twenty years, they have begun to revive the brand for a new audience and I am happy to pick up the torch.

@panzade,
I've popped in here a few times already, notably with offerings from Diamond Knot, Ninkasi, and Stone.

We generally bought a case of Olde Frothingslosh around the holidays. A bit of humor; and who cared about fancy taste?

This stuff was available for 75 cents a 6 pack:

I looked older than my friends and was called on to bluff my way past proprietors for purchase.

I thought, surely Neo you meant 75 cents each by the 6 pack; 'til I read the last sentence
