@Ticomaya,

Yes, we are in a drought. But we are a city in a desert, so it's not unusual. We have a large water supply, so no rationing.

Sometimes, in high summer, it feels a bit like we're living in a city in a desert here, too, Ticomya.
You are so lucky with your water situation, though!

If only ..... Sad

I take great pleasure in reporting ....

... that it is raining, (steadily, even) in the city of Melbourne, Oz, as I type.

It may be unseasonally cold ... but who cares?

It's wet!

Yippeeeeeeeeee!

Very Happy

@msolga,
Raining here too!

For the last two days...mainly very gentle, but I just drove home through some REAL rain.....deluged gutters, sheets of water across roads....

It's still warm, though...so it's quite tropical.

@dlowan,
Not at all tropical here Deb. Quite chilly for December, in fact!

But hooray, hooray, hooray!

Rain for Adelaide & Melbourne! Very Happy

More, I say, more!

I would even give some serious approval to a wee flood!

@margo,
WooHooooooooooo!

It's still raining here! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Steadily, not the crazy windy stuff, giving everything a good wash & soak. I can't tell you how soothing this feels. <contented sigh>

More rain predicted for the weekend. Then "showers" for the rest of next week.

This is just great! I think it's the very best Christmas gift imaginable!

(Heading off to the Christmas thread now, margo.)

@dlowan,
Yes, isn't it, Deb? Very Happy

And so was the temperature yesterday! 15 C ! Shocked (Stop laughing at me, ehBeth. This is freezing by our summer standards!)

It was so chilly that I took to my bed in the afternoon. (I mean, what else can one do in such adverse circumstances, I ask you?) Finished a book I'd barely started reading. My cat snuggled up, too. Very nice it was! Haven't done anything like that for ages.

Despite recent rains, both Adelaide and Melbourne are in desperate need of gallons more. Adelaide last week was so dry....absolutely everything is brown and dusty, even the wabbits (well, not really - but why spoil a good story!) I'll be in Melbourne in just over a month - so Olga can expect some more rain then.

Sydney too needs rain, although we're not as bad as elsewhere. Still no improvement in the catchment areas.

We sure do!

Sadly, the deluge is now over & were stuck with unseasonally cool weather! For days. Where's the fun in that?Wink

Just saw your post, Izzie. Thank you for your determined dancing, too! You & ehBeth must be very influential with the rain gods! Very Happy

Well - after the thank-you I just received, I am very happy to drop in a spray a few gallons around in both of those alleged 'capitals'. You name the spot, I'll supply the bladder-full.......
