The optimal tools for self defense are guns.
In fairness, I shoud acknowledge that women and girls have also successfully defended themselves
from the predatory violence of man and of beasts (cougars, etc.) I made a point of training my mother
in the defensive use of guns.
About 100 years ago, while riding on a railroad train, my mother's sister was violently attacked
with attempted defenestration. My mother (
unarmed) defended her and suffered very severe permanent personal injuries.
Regardless of gender, we all share the equal right, & natural right to defend ourselves from violent malice.
