...I mentioned the quote from Treasure of the Sierra Madre which often is quoted as: "We don't need no stinkin' badges."

The actual quote is: "I don't have to show you any stinking badges." **

I read somewhere a long time ago that it is one of the two most often misquoted quotes...the second being from Shakespeare's Hamlet, "Alas poor Yorick. I knew him well."

The actual quote is, "Alas poor Yorick, I knew him, Horatio."

Any others out there worth hearing about?

**Full speach: "Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don't need badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges, you god-damned cabrĂ³n and chinga tu madre!"

@Frank Apisa,
"Spitting Image" versus "Spit and Image".

The common mis-phrasing is "Spitting" Image where "Spitting" is used as an adjective to describe the image (which makes no sense). But the original phrase, and the one which makes far more sense, is "Spit AND Image" which compares one person to another by physical qualities (spit) as well as image.

"Play it again, Sam"

Never said.

Also - "War is Hell" was paraphrased.
