@chucktaylor,
I find that even my most reliable friends seemed to abandon me during a very intense time in my life. I found it best to use that as a learning experience and never treat anyone like that when they are going through tough times. I still have those friends.

@chucktaylor,
Get over it. Life is too short to carry meaningless grudges.

Phones are for both talking and listening.

So pick up the phone and ask someone over.

They may be busy or don't know what to do.

You have chosen to think they are ignoring you.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself and make the first move.

@chucktaylor,
Who knows why they didn't show up, nonetheless, I can understand if your feelings are hurt, because all they needed to do was extend themselves a little. Especially to break the tedium of being housebound and uncomfortable.

Real friends will show up. The ones that didn't show up-- well, you're friendly with them, but they may not be real, true friends. They didn't intentionally not show up, they just didn't get an A for being considerate. That's a difficult thing to absorb, and it feels lonely.
