Up to a point. But GW excludes the possibility of people who have the charm to get anybody to like them. For these a rich woman is a good catch. Why waste such a charm on down-at-heel no-hopers in the fond belief they will treat you any more respectfully in anything other than the short term.
I am inclined to think that one is treated as one deserves to be and any perceived shortcomings in that treatment are more than likely to be caused by oneself. One should try to develop what are known as "winning ways".
