@Rockhead,
On paper at least, after the 6th inning they've got a Murderers' Row.

@jespah,

it almost feels like a re-building year, what with all the transactions...

@Region Philbis,
OK...

the sawx activated Billy, and cut brad.

last week they shattered the dreams of mr Smoltzie. (who is now a cardinal, btw)

how many millions of $$$ have they just flat cut this year??? (so far)

my guess is about the equivalent of the Royals payroll. (or mebbe the baby pirates)

@Rockhead,

"shattered"?

we're talking about a big market team that tries to be competitive every year.

for whatever reason smoltz pitched like crap in 7 out of 8 starts.
it appeared to be more mental than physical.
they didn't dump him sooner out of respect, i thought.

staying with the results-oriented theme, penny got it bcos he's pitched like crap since late june...

I don't think we'll go any harder than we need to in order to get the wild card.

I like Kazmir, he is a smart pitcher, and the same age as Lincecum and Cain.

I've got about five months to ponder which starting pitchers the Brewers can snag for J.J. Hardy and Corey Hart. I trust Doug Melvin isn't stupid enough to trade Prince Fielder for any of the pieces of **** available. Though I do hope some pieces of **** are in fact acquired to solidify a rotation otherwise comprised of diarrhea.

I'm excited about next year's infield--Gamel, Escobar, Weeks, Fielder--though it will take a few seasons (damnit) to develop.

But anyway, them Green Bay Packers is lookin' pretty good, huh?

@Region Philbis,
Oh, but y'all should check out this video to fully understand the picture Reg posted: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090906&content_id=6823408&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

Awesome. It's nice to see that, even if I can't enjoy the rest of the Brewer's season, the boys themselves can.
