@Gargamel,
you prolly should wait until Prince leaves to do that, kool-aid.

otherwise you will have to do it twice...

@panzade,

me too -- none of their players had to deal with an ear-seeking moth...

The good news is I'm that rare baseball fan who has confidence in his team's owner and GM.

I still like the starting rotation, though Marcum would be wise to remain in hiding until April, and I think a defensively serviceable shortstop and 20-HR first baseman who can take a walk will deaden the blow of Fielder's departure.

Still, I want to die.

What's going on with Theo and his abandoning ship? I thought the deadline is before game #1 of WS? They can't seem to agree on terms or players to make up the deal? The news reports he signed on 10/11 with the Cubs for $20M but...is that it?

@Ragman,

they can still hammer out the details, but must wait until the Series is over to make the announcement...

@Region Philbis,
they'll figger it out.

I've really been struggling with whom to root for during this horrible world series.

I have multiple reasons to dislike both teams. and they both can't lose. and I gotta have some kinda reason to care.

then I saw Esteban German pinch hit for the rangers.

I like him. a lot. he was my favorite royal once.

so now I want the rally squirrels to lose.

so Esteban gets a ring...

My problem with this year's World Series is that in my mind it's 9 douchebags led by a smug alcoholic vs. George W. Bush.

It's like choosing between **** and vomit for dinner.

LaRussa's fingerprints were all over this gem of a win. From Craig's 6th inning pinch hit ribby(In the World Series???) to 5 relief pitchers...it was all LaRussa.

Card's skipper set the outfield deep to stop a double being hit in the ninth. Normally Kinsler's bloop would be an easy out.
Kinsler pulls off a cheeky steal on Molina and the Rangers steal one.

@panzade,
And Larussa, who can't keep his hands off a game, removes his best strikeout pitcher after he gives up two bloops. Hamilton hits the tie sac fly off Rhodes.

@Gargamel,
My motto for LaRussa: live by the sword, die by the sword.

He micro-manages a game to death. OTOH, his record is still one of - if not - the best of the current crop of active managers.

@Ragman,
Yeah. I can't really critique his bullpen management when said pen felled my poor Brewers.

@Region Philbis,
"The teams negotiated for more than a week over compensation the Red Sox would receive for letting Epstein out of his contract. In the end, they decided to put off that issue, saying it would be resolved in the near term."

they said...

"we'll figger it out..."

@Rockhead,
My understanding is that now they are playing in Texas, there will be a lot more hitting. Who does that favor?

@realjohnboy,
not the pitchers, would be my off the cuff thought.
