If you were the Yankees manager, would you start A.J. Burnett today?

I, for one, would NOT.

looks like girardi's hoping the bats wake up tonight.
gotta think he would've started cc on short rest had they been down 0-3...

@fbaezer,
Thumbs up, fbaezer. Burnett sucks.

(And if I were manager of the Yankees, I wouln't give an IBB for the go-ahead run).

@fbaezer,
I gave up on Burnett in June. but I didn't owe him 30 million dollars ...

the Rangers are making this one a no doubter.

@Rockhead,

the replay showed it was foul -- although it might've grazed the 'foul pole'...

the fans were affecting plays throughout the night.
kinda surprised no interference was called...

shut it off when it was 3-2 jankees (beauty sleep), figgering they'd hold on.
AJ's outing was like a whole bunch of beckett's -- great start, but lost focus for one inning and it cost him...

how's teixeira's hammy?
is he done??

@Region Philbis,
The not so slight difference between Beckett and Burnett is that Beckett has had several good seasons, while A.J. has only had one -an island of great pitching in the sea of a mediocre career.

Now, if he can pitch two or three decent innings, make him a long reliever, for Christ's sake! Either he'll thrive there and rebound or become another useless millionaire like Oliver Perez. But don't use him in the CS... you'll end up proving your millions were sent to waste.

I'm happy the Yanks are almost done, it'll be good to see new faces in the WS. But I'm also sure old George Steinbrenner must be rolling in his grave and pulling his sons' legs at night, ordering him to fire Girardi.

@Region Philbis,
I think Girardi has done an overall good job. But the Yankees' management has a short fuse, and so do many Yankees' fans.

@fbaezer,
I think Cliff Lee added, and AJ out makes Girardi a much better manager.

they had sketchy starting pitching all year.

had I known that being an average left handed starting pitcher was worth 11 mil a year for an old guy, I woulda switched hands and worked harder when I was a kid...

@Rockhead,
LOL, sure!

Just yesterday I was thinking of myself at the job as the manager of the Florida Marlins. If you do a fine job, the team will be slighly above .500, but with that payroll you can't be a championship contender.
