and not to be outdone, tiny Tim has a one hit shutout going after six. (with 9 K's)

as usual, he's not getting much run support, however...

It's a final.

and it was a gem, 1-0.

T. Lincecum complete game shutout. 2 hits, a walk. 14 strikeouts...

I wish he'd have done a little more of that during the regular season.

Tommy Hanson gives up a 3 run gopher ball to Pat Burrell in the bottom of the first...

And the Phillies rolled the Reds again.

@Rockhead,

cincy looks like one of those teams that has to lose before they figure out what it takes to win...

@Region Philbis,
the Braves came back to beat the Gents, but...

"Farnsworth pitched 1 2-3 shutout innings for the victory, relieving in the 10th after closer Billy Wagner injured his left oblique."

if Farnsworth is their new closer, they aren't going far...

@Region Philbis,
Bumgarner picked up the win for the Giants. pitched pretty well.

well enough that B. Zito prolly doesn't pitch again this year...

Phils look to have the edge. they hit more consistently that SF.

gonna be a good series, I think.

Tiny Tim against Roy H. for the opener...

@Region Philbis,
Gonna be a good one. Rays have some recent experience in clutch playoff tilting. Texans, like the Reds might need some seasoning to get to the next level.

@panzade,
Quote:
The Rays, which struggled to draw crowds all season despite posting baseball's best regular-season record,
are making 5,000 obstructed-view seats available for Tuesday's fifth and deciding game of their
American League Division Series against the Texas Rangers.

It's the first time this season the Rays have sold tickets for those seats, which are in the high reaches of
Tropicana Field's third level and are usually covered with tarpaulins.

@Region Philbis,
If the fans don't come out for this game management might as well call in the moving vans.

there will be many a batter going sheepishly back to the dugout, spitting and shaking his head in disgust...
