@Region Philbis,
Congratulations should go out to the Rays for their extra inning win but I refrain to give the city their alleged due respect because clearly they don't respect their own team.

I think this has to make him the front runner for NL MVP...

from yahoo

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-nlds-reds-phillies

"Halladay became the fifth pitcher to throw two no-hitters in the same year. He joined Nolan Ryan (1973), Virgil Trucks (1952), Allie Reynolds (1951) and Johnny Vander Meer (1938)."

they claim playoff stats have no bearing on MVP voting, but yeah...

no one will ever duplicate what Vander Meer did btw...

@Region Philbis,
Huge tip of the cap to Halliday. Amazing, possibly the greatest pitching performance those of us born after '56 will ever see.

hmmmmm.

$18 million man Barry Zito has to watch the Giants play from his house.

and he was the highest paid Giant this season.

@Rockhead,

SF can get away with it in a 5-game series, but would prolly have to bring him back if they advance...

@Region Philbis,
I bet not as a starter...

I rate Bumgarner over him by a wide stretch.

(he was a flying squirrel most of the season) NOT Zito...

@Region Philbis,
he's won one of his last 16 starts, and his ERA is a point above Bumgarner, who is on the NLDS roster as a possible for game 4...

and Billy Bean got rid of him at the proper time, as usual.
