@InfraBlue,

the first time i saw the replay, i thought it was dirty.

it looked like more like a chop block than a take out slide...

@Region Philbis,
Sadly, that sort of play is legal and not much different than the 100 other times it's been done during the year...but it more often than not can show up in big games...playoff games ... where the stakes are higher.

As was seen in the myriad of replays, he went out of a direct line to the bag and tried to breakup the double-play and did a take-out of Tejada. Now as to whether or not this exact play should be eliminated perhaps should be on the plate of Commish. That can be debated...hotly.

The Cubs won in four games and are going to be idle for three days until Saturday when the NLCS begins. Either the Mets or the Dodgers will be off for only two days until Saturday.

It seems that a shorter waiting time is better than a longer one for a team because they're coming into the series primed from the previous series. The Cubs might come into the series with a bit of rust.

Will it make a difference in the NLCS?

With that said, GO CUBBIES!

@InfraBlue,

believe it or not, that was the first time in their history that the Cubs clinched a playoff series at home...

@panzade,
For many reasons, I'm cheering for Cubs.

1. they have the longest WS losing streak since Red Sox had finally won one.
2. they've got Theo Epstein, our former GM and a winner that knows how to build a team
3. Coach Maddon is a fun guy and a good coach. any interview with him is worth watching.
4. their fans deserve a winner and are patient and come to see them win or lose.

@Ragman,
Its hard not to cheer on the Cubs.

Us Bostonians know how it feels. It does seem like all the elements are lining up for them.

Speaking of Bautista, was his bat flip offensive?

I thought it was a little in-your-face, but then again, given the circumstances of the game, he was just very pumped up.

In a playoff clincher? Nah

What was offensive was the Rangers defense.

@InfraBlue,
when you watch the moment where he realizes how that bat connected, I'm surprised he didn't toss it straight up in the air
