@Mame,
So you're off to cook again? I thought you're more settled now.....
How long are you going to be there?

Looking forward to your stories from the wild northwest.

Thanks - I will. 4 - 6 weeks, depending on drilling results. Not long enough but good enough, if you know what I mean. This year is a bad one for cooks - everyone's doing fly camps (cook for themselves, no infrastructure other than their personal tents) and not much drilling, where'd you'd need a cook and/or first aider. I'm lucky to get the work.

@Reyn,
Not driving... but I will be using a stove so if I burn myself and need to scream, I can.

Yes, I, too, look forward to the unfolding of the soap opera - there always IS one, isn't there?

@Mame,
Oh yeah! I've found that life is always full of drama.

So, you're flying then? How long is the trip? Expensive?

@Reyn,
It's not long, Reyn... I think a direct flight is about 2 hours to Whitehorse and then it's a four hour drive to camp, but we're overnighting two nights in Whitehorse to get supplies, reconnoitre, etc.

@Mame,
have fun, and bring your own TP...

burned myself tonight on shift, and thought of our young friend as I cursed, and my helper laughed...(son of a b....)

I only scream when I am doing my sushi chef imitation with the big knives.

I would like to hear about the recipes, or at least the menus.

Bear, caribou, pine needles, that kind of thing.

@McTag,

I seem to have a talent for bringing threads to an end.

How's it going up there, Mame?

@McTag,
Well, we're here! Got in yesterday at 1:30 and by 3:30 we were on the Yukon Lake getting spun around like an exhibition ride and soaked to the skin. At 5:30, he dropped us off at a rather deserted picnic area where we unloaded the food and drinks and ate. Headed back around 7:30 p.m. and changed before trying out a couple of the bars. Bed at 11 p.m. and met up for breakfast at 8:00 a.m. Most of them are off doing a Level 1 First Aid course; I've been connecting with Search and Rescue, RCMP, Helicopter companies, Medical supply outfits, and food suppliers. It's only 9:05 a.m. and I'm done. Now I'm going sightseeing...

Unfortunately, I left my camera at the restaurant before we left for the river tour so I have to scrounge some of those pics from the others. Did retrieve my camera, though, and here are a few prior to that.

Here's a photo of the YT:

I'm glad you got your camera back and I can't wait for the diary to start rolling. Great pics already -- no matter whose camera was clicking. Have a blast and keep us posted!

@Mame,
Mame, you look great ! The place sounds exciting and your friends & associates look very agreeable. I know you will enjoy it all and I look forward to your reports.

What's a "USian bigot" ?? As for the rest,... I can visualize it, but you're no bimbo.

Mame, as McTag would say, you are a looker. Love the landscape and the rest of your crew looks wonderful, too.
