Some storms (and we had a doozie in NY) delayed our adventuress.
Waiting now to hear.
Joe(ear to the ground wasn't working, now have cellphone on.)Nation
@Joe Nation,
Joe, You mean she ain't here yet?
All we've got is storms.
I'll check in here when I get back from the hospital.
@Roberta,
As far as I am concerned, we are on, yes. Arrived at the Frying Pan 10 minutes ago. Not seeing anyone yet. If there has been a change of plans, please call me. Meanwhile, I'll be waiting at the bar.
@Thomas,
Just talked to Joe Nation. He'll be at the pan in 5 minutes. So yes, we're definitely on.
I hope you all have a fantastic visit with ms wolf. I doubly hope ms wolf has a fantastic visit in NYC, weather be damned.
@JPB,
it's miss letty and her durned rain dances.
(i told her they weren't for beginners)
Has Shewolf definitely made it to NYC?
@Eva,
It hasn't helped my worrywartness that I read that NYTimes article on the airline industry (How Air Travel Can Be Made Less Annoying, no link right now), and a lot of the comments (26 pages and still going strong) about people's gripes.
Well, let me presume Shewolf got over being scared re flying and into major annoyance....
But I too hope she is there and having fun by now, however wet.
@Eva,
Yes. We just met for dinner at the French Roast. Looking forward to the food!
@Thomas,
ooooooooh... have the best time - say hey from me to all. ENJOY yourselves. x
Back from dinner.
Shewolf arrived in NYC a day late--with an unscheduled overnight stay in Atlanta.
Her photos don't do her justice. Wolfie is gorgeous. And smart, and funny, and energetic. I enjoyed listening to her take on NY--especially the Letterman show.
Although we're both in the same town, I met Joe Nation for the first time. Smart, interesting, articulate, funny.
Thomas, I know. No surprises there.
Kickycan showed up as we were having dessert. I liked him instantly. Sorry I didn't get the chance to spend more time with him--with them all. They went on to somewhere else. I came home. Too pooped to move on.
Had a great time. It's always a relief to meet people you think you're gonna like and you do. It's always a pleasure when they exceed your expectations. This was a pleasure.
Dinner? I had marinated roast leg of lamb with ratatouile (next time I'll order something I know how to spell. Sorry if that's wrong). The lamb was tender and juicy. The rat thing was divine. I had a brownie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream for dessert. Joe (I'll just nibble) Nation helped me eat it. Also divine.
Smiling.
@Roberta,
Oh, lawsy, good to hear.
A day late, **** a duck, that is annoying for Wolfie. Hope she scoped Atlanta with her eagle eye.
Glad the meet worked.
@ossobuco,
Waiting to see if Joe Nation reports on his dessert..
Well that sure was fun. I met shewolf, Roberta, Joe and Thomas at French Roast, but didn't get to spend enough time with Roberta--I could tell right off the bat that she is a firecracker. I certainly hope our paths will cross again at some point. I've met Joe and Thomas many times, and they are both still wonderful people. Thomas surprised me--he is noticeably thinner since last time I saw him. Looking good, my friend!
Shewolf is a hot, acid-tongued babe, just like I expected her to be. At one point, while Joe, Thomas and Roberta were discussing the check, me and Shewolf went and had a quickie in the bathroom. I don't think anyone suspected, even though Shewolf came back out of the bathroom wearing her dress backwards. Good times...
@kickycan,
I see Thomas often. He's smaller every time I see him. I agree with kicky. Looking good.
As for the check/bathroom/backward dress business. I haven't discussed a check in decades.
I'm so glad you all were together. But you know what we're going to ask... did anyone take pictures?
