@ehBeth,
Jacket?

seriously?

No. I do not own one. But I am bringing a thicker shirt.. just in case..

Is it REALLY that windy?
Damn.
I was hoping to be able to just wear comfy dresses . Sad
They are heavy, long. One is short. Maybe too short ... Will replace it with a shirt to go with my jeans then .

@shewolfnm,

NY's on the ocean, so I find it tends to be windy, plus you've got those building canyons creating wind currents.

The temps look like they'll be good, but you may find it coolish at the edges of the day. Rain's forecast, so a jacket could be useful - don't want to waste a good camera hand on an umbrella.

I'd put any equipment/chargers in their own baggies - simply because they're travelling in the same bag as liquids. I have some special giant ziplocs that I use for that purpose - dirty laundry (that I haven't replaced and thrown out) comes home in the giant ziplocs.

Have we settled on a time for dinner? Six or seven?

It can be windy here. But the rain (lately) is more of an issue. Torrents. Sheets of water from the sky. Lightning, thunder, and more torrents. I suggest you carry a small umbrella in your bag. I understand that you want to keep your hands free. But you also don't wanna walk around soaked.

Someone please let me know what time we're meeting for dinner.

Looking forward to this--big time.

I'm excited for you! I can't wait to hear all about it.

Wear layers to see Letterman. Everyone says that the theater is ridiculously cold.

@Roberta,
I thought I posted on getting back to Roberta (none of my business, for sure).

I have annotated on a2k my time after I bought an umbrella at that ny pharmacy, Duane Reade, opened it up once I got out the door, and it flumed skyward while all the taxies ignored me waving, me giving up on the idea of a bus just right then.

I've lived in the northwest. Umbrellas are ****, they are only palliatives once in a while, in light rain and wind. (Plus, they can't be owned.) I don't mind getting wet in summer myself, it's a large so what. Maintain your camera and purse.

I'm figuring you can take seven as ok, but can you and Thomas talk?
This is all none of my business.

this is the first time in my adult life I am too excited to sleep. I have had about 3 hours. Up now just because I am tired of laying down ATTEMPTING to sleep. I have 45 minutes until my alarm anyway. No need in fussing around in bed.
I have to enter in phone numbers, forward ticket info and just.. be happy Smile

Yeeeeuuup

Thats why I am out of bed.
To. just. be. happy. Smile

@Roberta,
I think, they way things sound, I might just be meeting Joe earlier while Thomas gets you ?
I think? And then from there, dinner when ever everyone arrives.

Unsure.. as it is now.. oooohhhhh 2:40 am.
3 hours sleep.
No brain.
Coffee brewing.

*sigh* Smile Lovely.

It's not quite going to be that easy: The French Roast doesn't do reservations, and doesn't seat incomplete parties. We'll need a definite time for meeting there. I suggest 7 pm. Does that work for everyone?

As for the Frying Pan, it's on the Hudson around 26th street. To get the timing right, give yourself an hour to stroll around the place and have a drink, 10 minutes to get to the subway at either Penn Station or on 23th Street and 8th Avenue, 15 minutes to wait for the subway because you'll arrive just in time to see your train leave the station, 15 minutes for the subway to go to 86th street, 5 minutes to go from the 86th street station to the restaurant. Add a general safety margin of 15 minutes, and 5 pm sounds like a good time to meet at the Frying Pan.

Assuming we can agree on these data, it seems we have two events:

  • 5 pm: Frying Pan, West 26th Street and the Hudson River.

  • 7 pm: French Roast, West 85th Street and Broadway.

Do we have an agreement? Going once ... going twice ...

Roberta: Shall I pick you up near your apartment at 6:30 pm? If you'd like that, I'll be happy to. Alternatively, if you prefer to go to French Roast by yourself, I would join Shewolf and Jonathan 5 pm at the Frying Pan, come up to the Upper West Side with them, and the four of us would meet in front of French Roast at 7 pm. It's up to you. What would you like me to do?

7 p.m. is fine with me. Thomas, you go to the Frying Pan and enjoy. I'll meet you at the French Roast at 7. I'll get there on my own.

Hasta Friday.
