For some strange reason someone was able to post the topic "How to keep an idiot busy" under my name that I did not post.

Sysops you have some form of a security problem here that you should address.

I will see about changing my password in the mean time

@BillRM,
Under my name twice even.
April fool´s day yes - but it is not very funny to be made into a most annoying person on A2K.

@BillRM,
Ummm, today is April Fools Day.

This is part of the annual folly on this special day of celebration for the A2K hamsters. There is no security breech.

@dagmaraka,
If it is just a code - how come it then turns up under "My posts" ? If it is not hijacked anybody can use anyones name/code at any time and under my name/code say things I would never say.

relax. nobody can just use the code, only the Maker of this website. besides, i doubt it would be terribly tempting to anyone.

The "security hole" is the hamster. Careful it doesn't bite you in the groin.

@dagmaraka,
So it is the web-master himself doing this posting under my name?

Hmm not sure how I feel about this form of an April fool joke even by someone nice enough to provide this service in the first place.

@BillRM,
Everyone saw the thread posted in their own name. So the only person who saw the thread as being posted by you was you.

That just isn't any kind of security problem, except insofar as a deficit of humor can be a dangerous thing.

maybe next year you could post all the things you plan to do before april fools day, you know, it won't be as much fun, but people will get the joke , maybe

@Robert Gentel,
If you don´t know that everybody saw the thread in their own name how can you than know it is not a security problem???
This has nothing to do with a deficit of humor by the person who sees it but maybe a deficit of humor by the person who did it.
Not everybody who is on A2K knows everything about what is going on - especially first time visitors, people who kind of are not in the inner circles and people who don´t know thing about the hamsters which you talk a lot about and many other things.

true. and this is a perfect place for them 364 days a year. and those newbies that will read a few posts today will figure it out on this 365th day rather quickly as well. well, most of them will.

The other 99% of the people who found it obvious after a few minutes can tell you. But that really wasn't my point, I'm just explaining that there it wasn't a security problem. With any prank there will be those who just don't get it, and then those who are a poor sport about it after they do, or even those who just don't like all the nonsense and we aren't going to give up on April 1st pranks for those who feel differently. They have the rest of the year to take themselves too seriously.

Hey, the "security" problem could have been a lot worse.
