@realjohnboy,
At the moment, Premiata is leading the league is almost every category.
Only second to the Desert paws in doubles, second to the Herons in wins, second to the Lushies in ERA, middle-of-the-road in WHIP and Ks and dead last in CS (my runners are a bit overanxious).

Yeah, and that's working out really well for the Skoalmen...

Stat wise though, the Skoalmen are doing well actually. Premiata is just having a great week.

interesting look at the stats.

So as soon as I praise my guys on their hitting, they stand there and watch the strikes go by. They hit something like .150 today with more than a handful of strikeouts. sigh.

Don't know what happened, but the Gerbils sure took a leap yesterday and last night. Course it can go the other way just as fast!

@ElStudHoncho,
Meanwhile, my highly ranked pitcher seems to have lost his cool..

I know what a passed ball is and what a wild pitch is; and what a stolen base or fielder's choice is...that might allow a runner to advance a base.
In the Toronto-Cleveland game this afternoon was this explanation on the brief play-by-play on Yahoo of how a runner advanced from 1st to 2nd: "Francisco to 2nd on fielder's indifference." What the hell does "fielder's indifference" mean?

@ossobuco,
Meanwhile, two of my pitchers are semi-dueling, wainwright and oswalt. At least neither of them have ballooned up, yet. (shhhh) Oswalt now pitching to my catcher..

@ossobuco,
I'm following on CBS mlb schedules/game center. It's easier now that I figured out that I need to turn my system volume down so that I don't get blown away by loud ads in every change of pitchers. The game blog at the bottom of the page is.. today, in the game I'm watching, not quite as full of hot air as some, and it's sort of educational for this neophyte.

@Foxfyre,
The catcher threw the ball back to the pitcher after a routine pitch but it got by him and rolled towards the 2B. He, however, was contemplating his navel (it's a guy thing). The runner took advantage of that lapse in attention.

"Fielders indiference" is when, for score reasons (usually it's in the last inning and the game is loopsided), the defending team is not trying to avoid a stolen base.

@ossobuco,
I like my explanation better but your's makes more sense. My RP came in with the score 5-1 in the bottom of the 9th. Due to his ineptitude and fielder indifference it was soon 5-4 with 2 outs. He got pulled, costing me the save and 3 runs in 2/3 of an inning.

@fbaezer,
That's a serendipitous typo: loopsided.

I at least made it respectable. After leading earlier in the week against Pantalone's Lushies, my guys crashed on Friday and Saturday. I went into today way down. But I had 4 SP, each of whom managed to go 6 innings or more with good performances. And there was the one of them who got a CG (Complete Game) and SO (Shutout). The 1st of us here to do that, I believe. I am still on target to lose the week, by a score or 7-8.

@realjohnboy,
I came into today doing quite well against the mighty Ticomaniacs, something of a sports leap for me. Last I looked, though, my batters were trying to make up a series of easter egg baskets.
Whatever, I've batters that are not likely to sustain this early adrenalin romp, and one or two that are expected to improve. We'll see.

I'm pitcher heavy, but wary about which to unload, not to mention which batter(s) to pickup. I suppose I'll wait until one of the pitchers accrues multiple awful e.r.a.s. Thinking, "Mister Lee, Mister Lee" but giving him some room.

The guy to watch, er, manager to watch, is Senor Premiata Forneria M, aka the Rock Group. He's doing well with a stable of RPs and low number of SPs.

@ossobuco,
OK, Lee is gone. Go get'im.

What the hell, I can tell by watching myself over last year and the start of this one, that I learn by nosing around and playing around - and the results of that (learn what, exactly?)

Ok, I learn some names. Even now as we speak I'm beginning to tackle acronyms.
