@Joe Nation,
I thought you seemed like one of the nicest guys in the world- as you do on here. The only surprise to me was you seemed a little shyer than I pictured you being. But when I talked to Mathos on the phone - it was the same deal...Mathos SHY?!
I'd like to meet solipsister. I think she has this sort of creative brilliance that just sparkles like crystalline - she expresses herself more clearly in four words that I can in four pages.
I'd love to meet Fritz (On the Fritz). He's a masterfully funny acronymist.
I'd like to meet Dutchy. Seems like another one of the nicest people in the world.
I'd like to hear Panzade's band play.
I always thought Rap Rap and Hanno seemed interesting- really bright and good writers.
I think Stach would be interesting to talk to about teaching.
I think Farmerman would be interesting to talk to - we could talk about Maine- maybe he could come down to Blue Hill from Eastport and he and Miklos (and Miklos' big dog) could all walk up the blue hill and take and compare photos.
The people in England who I'd like to meet already now who they are and that I'd like to meet them - so far- no go, but Mathos wanted to meet when I was in the US - lost his e-mail but I know his name so I might just show up in Lancashire at that Toby's carvery and ask where he lives...I have to wait til April when he comes back from Thailand - but I'd like to meet him and Flobo (his wife).
I'd be curious to meet Setanta - I think we could raise a ruckus duking it out - maybe Chai2 too - I think they're both smart and funny and it might be fun to scrap.
Frank - you live like 5 miles from where I grew up (East Brunswick). I used to hang out in Johnson's Park.
If you guys all meet in NY this spring - David, Joe, et al - if I'm home I'd love to remeet Joe and spend some time eating with David - maybe we could all do it together.
I'd meet anyone out of curiousity. That's just the way I am - interested, and curious to put a sense of reality to the virtual imagined picture I have.
And sometimes you might even get a friend out of it.
