Heh, @thomas sent me a book on telegraphy once. It was kind of the Twitter of its time. Female telegraph operators used to get hit on by male telegraph operators all the time and, yes, there were romances and marriages.

I just don't get it.

I'm usually pretty sharp at that kind of thing. I got the "can you lend me ten" thing in the other thread immediately.

But this I just do not get.

Not sure if I saw Fight Club or not. If I did...it was many years ago...and I do not remember the "Rule #1" thing.

Right now my memory has not been (putting it kindly) at its peak. Almost every movie is a new movie to me...except things like 2001, A Space Odyssey, The Godfather, Pulp Fiction, Jaws...things I have seen so many times, I cannot forget them.

Makes for enjoyable evenings when you need something to watch...and the pickings are thin.

If you’re looking for something to watch may I recommend What We Do In The Shadows. There’s a film and a TV series, the film is set in New Zealand and the TV series in New York. It’s a comedy about a bunch of hapless vampires, different groups in the film and series although the vampires in the film make a cameo in the series.

It’s very very funny.

It's based on a Chuck Palahniuk book and so is therefore full of wonderfully horrible things.

Nancy and I were sitting on our deck last night…and the “Fight Night” thingy came to mind. So I thought I’d ask her about it.

“Did you ever see the movie, Fight Club,” I ask.

“Ahhh…I think I’ve seen parts of it. Not my thing...too much violence. Only thing I remember about it is ‘Ya never talk about Fight Club.’”

“Jesus H. Christ,” sez I...

...while thinking to myself, “Am I the only person in the world who didn’t know that?”

She looked at me obviously wondering what the outburst was all about and said, “Brad Pitt was in it. I guess that’s one other thing I remember.”

Didn’t make me feel any better.

I'm not going to give any spoiler alerts Frank.

But the actual Fight Club isn't nearly the entire focus of the film.

You have to strap yourself in for this one, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

It's one of those movies you have to watch twice, to figure out WTF happened.

Fight Club is a gritty, edge-lordy nihilistic film. I haven't seen it in many years, let alone read the book (which for a very long time was in my top 5 favorite books of all time). Very heady in terms of civil disobedience and such.

Not so sure either book or movie would have aged well. Yeah, the movie still has some great performances. Maybe a rewatch is in order.

When Tyler Durden came out of the bedroom wearing just a towel and elbow length rubber cleaning gloves?

I will laugh at that on my deathbed.

My favorite book by Chuck is a tie. Choke or Rant.
