Not really...I have found homosexuals far more capable of honesty, especially about their own failings . Born homosexuals also tend to be far more egalitarian in my opinion than most religious people, but then genuinely religious are a joy to talk to... they are far more open minded than you give them credit for...I think your hostility stems from the belligerent fools who are desperately Christian . They are usually wrote learners who would be considered mentally damaged if it were not for religion being the topic .

There was also a pub in Melbourne where you could go int to a "private petitioned table" where a pre-teen would come under the table and give head jobs ... for a price of course .

From my own experience I shared a toilet where a young girl, 14 or so, was having sex with a man several cubicles away . I eventually found a Police officer and he would do nothing, saying she must have been over 18 . I saw them both by exiting first and waiting . She was 14 .

I don't do poppers, I don't "hook up", I don't dress in leather chaps, I don't go out to gay bars... the last time I was in a gay bar was well over 3 years ago, I don't own any sex toys, I do approve of mild "adult" pornography as long as it is not over the top. I don't have multiple sex partners and never have, I don't role play or approve of S & M... I am not attracted to kids except in a fatherly, nurturing and protective way.

I just say this because not all gays buy into the stereo types that the out and about gay community pedals. Most of the "reserved" gays are not so out in the open to have a frank conversation with. I do not really "click" with other gays who buy into this "scene"... I don't find their lifestyle healthy... I am not a heavy drinker, I try not to drink at all if i can help it and I have not smoked cigarettes in nearly 12 years. I don't do any drugs or have venereal disease and I exercise almost daily and watch what I eat. I am almost 50 years old, somewhat attractive, yet I am still denied the right to marry the man I choose to and where is the justice in that?

@RexRed,
There is no justice. It's a concept the tweeting violets use to sound "nice". It's a rat race Rex and the devil take the hindmost. Have you not read Darwin?

I daresay that the homosexuals who match the stereotype are not agitating to get "married". Why would they seek to become respectable? Isn't the whole point of the "scene" that it sticks two fingers up at respectability?

Luther and his henchmen wanted to be priests and be married. The theological sophistry was in the service of that objective.

@spendius,
spendi, You must learn to live beyond the local pub; it's damaged your brain.

The majority of heterosexual marriage ends up in divorce - even when there are children involved. Many have children without the blessing of a marriage. Have you not heard of single parenting? Sometimes a spouse dies.

You're speaking from your arse again!

I wonder if the gay community's desire for "gay marriage" really reflects just the popular belief that gay's want their equal rights under the law, or possibly something additional?

That something additional could be the 180 degree turn that many gays have taken from the lifestyle of the pre-HIV community. In the book City of Night by John Rechy, it was explained that the lifestyle of many gays, in the early 1960's, was "cruising" a portion of the night for anonymous, promiscuous gay sex. Well, since HIV ended that "party," so to speak, being married, in a monogomous relationship is really the one way to keep the gay community "alive" (literally) in the age of AIDS.

So, is it really just equal rights that gays want, or is gay marriage also the only way to ensure that a gay community continues into the future? While many gays that are younger might truly feel that their equal rights are being denied, I have to wonder if older gays, that know the history of their community, are aware of this "additional need" for gay marriage?

Just a thought.

There is some truth to this. I have lost many gay friends to aids... They simply up and died one day. I have also lost many gay friends to drugs and alcohol. Gays are not the only people who die from these things but when you personally lose so many people you love it wakes you up. If there is a God, it is a miracle I have made it through this unscathed... It does exactly that, it changes your sights and standards. Some people don't change their risky behavior and become a walking disease carrier.

I know many stories of people who have spread their diseases to countless young unsuspecting lovers. They simply lie about their status. I reject these kinds of people... They hook young guys on hard drugs infect them with diseases then reject them because of "size" issues. It honestly makes me angry. Only the size of a persons heart should matter.

I have a phrase I use... they "ruin men". Yes, the gay community needs marriage very desperately. The Catholic church is part of the problem, they ruin men too! They have no problem with letting this scourge continue. I am an agnostic protestant but I once used to admire catholic doctrines, the priesthood, and institutions, charities etc... Now I only have contempt for them. The very day they lifted up their voice against marriage equality was the day I lost all respect for them and the same thing goes for the republicans... The very day I saw them out with their anti gay signs I became a democrat. You can add the Mormons and Fox News to my list of contempt also...

Their political money once meant to feed the poor has cost me and many gays a good portion of our lives, waiting... While young bi curious guys are being infected every day and have no hope of a solid and wholesome gay lifestyle these institutions keep pouring out their hate, hypocrisy and blood money.

I could go on and on... You have no idea...

I might also add that the gay community not having gay marriage leaves bi curious married homosexuals vulnerable. If more gays were married then there would be fewer gays to spread diseases. Married infected gays don't have sex as often with multiple partners. This could help the families of heterosexuals not harm them. I tend to think the reason why these institutions are against gay marriage is much more sinister and evil. They want to perpetuate organized crime because they are profiting from these rackets and their charities feed off of destitute people.

It might be attention seeking, blowing $30 grand or just an excuse for a piss up.

All of the above, ceremony is not that big of a deal. You tie the knot and done with it.

Love is a big deal. Marriage equality is a big deal. If gays are not given marriage equality then bi curious married heterosexuals will not respect gay marriage and think it is an institution that has less value and solidity. A bond for life is a bond for life irregardless of a person's sex.

spendi "loves" his brew. It's been proven that too much "brew" can destroy brain cells. In spendi's case, it's irreversible.

Yes he does seem to be in love with his brew and the change in his pocket he also seems to have a sincere commitment to the two! "and for all the ladies he just seems to say for get you and them too!

This may be the Spendius song but then again maybe not!

I tend to think that wrong teaching is Spendi's problem. He listens to his bar buddies and their paranoia, fear and jokes over gays and has no other opinion to go by.

@RexRed,
Like most like-minded religious folks, spendi's belief over-rides common sense and logic. That's the reason why he spews so much b.s. adding nonsensical quotes from authors long gone from this world.

If I said what I thought about Spendius he might not want to talk to me again!

I know many of you think that would be a dream come true but I think of spendius as another human being that helps to prove there is no God so I find him to be on my side! lol

That's true I suppose. We are all agreed that we couldn't get it up for a bloke. And we are also all agreed how much that terrible aesthetic foible has cost us. If I had invested what I have paid out to pour alcohol down females in gold mining shares I would be absolutely loaded. If items of jewelry and other sundries were included the mind boggles. What Mr Spitzer and DSK think about such matters doesn't bear thinking about. The same goes forTiger Woods.
