Sometimes I cant help myself Cool What can I say - you have entertainment value! Like watching a train wreck - somehow it's hard to look away.

SYNRON wrote:

Solidarity was a key Soviet concept for years before Welesa used it. And Walesa knew what he was doing-attempting to rein in some old Soviet sympathizers who were on the fence.

Alternatively, Lech Walesa's Solidarnosc was called Solidarity because it was - gasp! - a trade union.

@nimh,
P{lease stop the Bullshit. I don't think that you,as a dedicated Hungarian Crypto Communist who hates the United States, that you do not know that Solidarity as a code word and a slogan was used endlessly in the Soviet Union by the people and the Supreme Soviet, during 1917, 1918, 1919, 1920, 1921, 1922.....up to the fall of the Berlin Wall and is still being used by crypto Communists like you.

Walesa's use of the term is just a footnote to its repeated use during the Soviet days. But you wouldn't know that since it is probably heresy in your circles to read anything by the finest Russian author of the last fifty years, Alexandr Solzhenitzen. I may go back to his Gulag books to see how often he quotes the Communist swine who use the term Solidarity.

@nimh,
By the way...Just a friendly warning. I don't know how repressive the Hungarian government is at this time but if they are like the Soviets, your mention of "train wreck" may be used against you as Anti_Hungarian sentiments and you might get ten years.

@SYNRON,
OK, before I go back to ignoring you again: I'm not Hungarian, I'm not a communist, crypto- or otherwise, I do not hate the United States, I've read Solzhenytsin, and the political use of the word "solidarity" goes much further back than 1917, and was used much more widely than just by communists, including by social-democrats, anti-communists and mainstream democratic politicians across the West.

Just to be done with the silliness...

Most of us get this, but some actual newbies might not, now or sometime later.
So we have a platform of discourse developing despite most getting we have troll confabulation.

@nimh,
No? Then why do you live in Hungary? And If you are not a Communist, you have fooled me with your extreme liberal stances. And please,no more bullshit about Solidarity. The word may indeed go back before 1917 but if you want chapter and verse I will quote to you from the Gulag volumes as to how often that word was used. To raise a Poland strawman was ridiculous.

If you don't hate the USA why, please explain why, you are so negative about a;lmost everything that has happened in the last decade except the accession of the pretender,Obama to the throne?

Can't you find one thing that has happened in the past decade that you could class as being postive or doesn't it fit your revolutionary world view?

I know you approve of scumbags like Barney Frank whose associates run houses of prostitution in his basement, but I have not seen that referenced.

I know you approve of Obama despite the fact that he has been CLOSELY associated with and helped by some of the most corrupt people in the country--Chicago style.

Iknow that you approve of harpies like Pelosi who, if she wasn't from the most depraved district in the USA, would never be elected to Congress.

I know that you approve of Ted Kennedy(poor man) whose biography is by far the most horrendous of anyone in the Senate.

But, again, Can you find a couple of things in the past decade that you have approved of, or won't your Ideology allow that?

You object to the labelsof Hungarian, C rypto Communist and Anti-American. I see no evidence that you do not fit those labels/

@ossobuco,
Yes. Ossobuco, What is the October Surprise.? Could it be that the Mccain Campaign has decided to take the gloves off, decided to let the extremists on the left call them racists and decided to show Obama's complicity in the corruption of his state through evidence of his dealings with Rezko, Ayres, Reverend Wright,Mayor Daley, and last but not least, The outstanding Minister Farrakhan. You do know that Obama attended the Million man march, do you not?

That may very well be the October surprise! Of course, if you can't respond to my ideas about the October surprise, you can just call it a confabulation.

@hamburger,
Oh, thank you, Hamburger, I have an old Cambridge"Fact Finder" which lists the per capita of Hungary as $5,800 dollars in 1994. It lists the US per capita as$19,082 in that year. So it is clear that the Hungarians and their decrepit Socialist economy still forces most of the population to eat bedbugs for breakfast and use outdoor privys.

@ossobuco,
Ossobuco--Get with it-Time is awaisting. What is the October surprise? I think it will be that McCain will take off the gloves and show the world that Obama is nothing else but an inner city gangbanger type who has allied himself with Rezko, Reverend Wright, Ayers, Daley and Farrakhan to carry out the unending corruption in Illinois and particularly Chicago.

Do you know, Ossobuco, the identity of the Governor in the United States who has the LOWEST JOB APPROVAL rating? None other than Gov. Rod Blagovich, who is Obama's good friend and fellow corruptionist.

@parados,
You misquoted me, Paradox, That's not nice. I would never misquote you.
You evidently are completely ignorant of the human anatomy since the procdure you quote is psyiologically impossible.

But you misread my post to hamburger. No one in the USA eats bedbugs for breakfast and there are very very few outdoor privys. That, as I said originally, is the situation in Hungary. But perhaps hamburger can tell me that the situation is getting better there since they overthrew the inefficent Socialist government.

I do wish to make the judgement about who deserves my help and who doesn't.

I don't want to make that judgement for you. By all means, help anyone and everyone who you feel deserves your help.

I don't want you, or anyone else to make that judgement for me.

It's telling that you consider this as being righteous.

It's not at all self-righteous, I suppose, to believe that your judgement of who deserves not only your help but the help of everyone else is correct, and anyone who disagrees is meanspirited.

If someone drives his car at 80 mph down a country road and ends up wrecking it, I won't be helping him buy a new one --- even when he tells me that it was someone else's fault because there wasn't a posted speed limit.

Are you sure it is only the "winners" who are drinking Starbucks coffee now? How easy is it to buy a cup of the liquid gold and reuse the cup for drinking your Folgers just to keep up appearances to the rest of the "winners?"

Here's an example from yesterday's news of one of those faux winners toting Starbucks cups for appearances sake to the rest of the "winners." She can remember it was a Starbucks quote but can't remember what the quote actually said. She can remember reading a Starbucks cup the day before but can't remember what sources she gets her daily news from.

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/10/04/politics/fromtheroad/entry4501842.shtml

Quote:
Palin regaled the cheering crowd with a story about how she was reading her Starbucks mocha cup yesterday, which featured a quotation from former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.

“Now she said it, I didn’t,” Palin said of Albright. “She said, ‘There’s a place in Hell reserved for women who don’t support other women.’”

The crowd roared its approval, but according to several sources, Albright actually said, “there’s a place in Hell reserved for women who don’t help other women.”

“OK, now thank you so much for receiving that well"I didn’t know how that was going to go over,” Palin told the southern California crowd. “And now California, let’s see what a comment that I just made how that is turned into whatever it’ll be turned into tomorrow in the newspaper.”

Concentration camp? Have to disagree with you there. John McCain was in a prisoner of war cage. I can't disagree with anything else you said in describing McCain.

@Butrflynet,
Yes. Butryfly net, but there is one difference, Some kiss everyone's butt. McCain refused repatriation.offered him on the grounds that his father was an Admiral. That is not butt=kissing. That is heroism. If you really want to know what captivity is like you might try to read Solzhenitzen's series on the Gulag. On the other hand, you might not understand it.

I am sure that you have not read the full story of McCain's captivity. He was there to defend you and the rest of our country. You couldn't last more than two weeks in a Vietnamese prison camp!

Did they serve McCain's coffee to him in Starbucks cups while he was there or was he one of the losers you previously mentioned who switched to McDonalds coffee cups because he's one of the free marketers, the Wall Street welfare beggars, and the right wing neocons riled up by pseudo-heros?

@Butrflynet,
There were no Starbucks cups in the prison camps. There was no Starbucks at that time but your knowledge of History is obviously abysmal so you know nothing about the Viet Cong prison camps. If you knew how those prisoners suffered,you would not joke about it. If you were in one of those camps the guard might hit you in the head with a rifle butt but I doubt it would hurt you since your head is obviously filled with concrete.
