Yeah--well!! Some of us think they are trying to confirm their own excellence and their right to live off the fat of the land. Matter cannot be fully understood with instruments made of matter or by intelligences limited by subjectivity and capacity.

The paragraph quoted from your link is meaningless. They could just as easily be "trying" to create a Star Trek beam up machine. That would at least have some handy utilities.

spendi, "Control of the masses" happen in every way shape and form. It's a combination of choice (or freedom, if you prefer), cultural upbringing, parental influence, schools, churches, government, environment, biology, and everything that makes up our known existence.

You can bottle that, and keep it in a safe place, because that is your answer.
