@mac11,
Good, mac - will be thinking of you.

Yesterday, Sunday -
1 coffee, 3/4 tsp sugar

quesadilla with new whole wheat spinach tortillas/jack cheese. Ate about a third of it, am tossing the rest of the tortillas. (Back a couple of years ago, Raley's used to carry a brand of flour tortillas with several choices of herbs and spices, and those were delicious, though I forget the brand name. Now it's an Albertson's, and those are long gone.) One of these days, the girl is going to try making her own flour tortillas - have a good recipe and it doesn't sound all that hard. Famous last words.

Ruffles and dip at friend's house, w/Vernor's ginger ale. Burp.

Newly concocted chicken soup - with 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped carrot, 1 chopped celery/sauteed; drained, rinsed can of garbanzo beans/some frozen green beans/small can of chopped mild green chiles/canned tomatoes, lots of water/1/4 lb of mini farfalle/a wedge of old parmigiano that I keep in there while the soup simmers and then take it out and store in a jar again/a bunch of previously roasted chicken.

6 sicilian olives

1 glass white wine

1 chocolate chip walnut raisin cookie

b: grapefruit, toast, coffee milk
E: got on the morning train and ran about 3 something around the lower loop trying to calibrate my Garmin. (Think of it as a pedometer attached to your shoe that sends a signal to your watch....because that's what it is. I think I have the thing set within a couple of yards of a mile. That's good.) It was good to be out in the morning.
Went to the gym and did my Thursday routine. Pull ups (1 set of 10) and Press-downs 3 sets of 10 plus Curls, chest press, shoulder Press and Crunches. Wait ... this is the food thread, you dope.

er.

L: tuna on lettuce with celery. Tea with milk

S: No frigging snacks
D: I made kind of Chicken Cacciatore. Onions and peppers and mushrooms, garlic (natch) and some tomato sauce. Added some black olives, cilantro and basil. Martini and a half.

So I went to the bank after my run and on the way home there is a Baskins/Robbins Ice Cream. My idiot brain directed me in. I stood by the Order Here sign and picked out two Chocolates to have on my Sundae that my brain was excitedly telling my soul that I DESERVED and my soul was mumbling about how I was soclose to a new low.....sabotage...all that....brain not listening.
Service person arrives from the back, a nice Dominican girl. I am the only whitish person in the store, did I mention that? Anyway, I'm next in line and under the Order Here sign. She looks right past me and says to a woman at the other end of the counter. "Si, mommie." The woman then proceeds to hem and haw over the six doughnuts she wants. And I, realizing that she and order-girl and the universe are doing me a big favor, fold my money up and walk out.
