I suppose you were put off by my posts, Chumly. Oh, well.

Today, breaded eggy pudding with handful/almonds/handful/raisins, lowfat milk, micro'd to hot.

sicilian olives/almond stuffed olives, marinated portobello mushrooms, one cheddar cheese pumpkin seed flatbread cracker, known to me as concrete.

soup of the gods, to me:

2 cups chopped onion, celery, carrot, in total, in 3 tbs olive oil, sauteed to onion translucence

1 16 oz can whole tomatoes and juice, tomatoes scissored

1 can beef broth low salt

6 tbs hatch's enchilada sauce, medium hot

1 drained and rinsed can/black beans

1 cup uncooked brown lentils

some ground garlic from penzey's as I forgot to saute fresh in the original battuto

several cups water added over x hours of simmering, maybe 5 or 6

2 fresh hot italian sausage, squeezed

more simmering, about ten minutes

1 1/2 cups arborio rice, frozen after cooking earlier, added and cooked until whole pot of zuppa nice and hot..

Good blend, first bowl delicious. Plan to have a second.

I'm on my third small icy chardonnay. Didn't count waters during day.

Nothing like that, it simply came to mind as an aside, unrelated to any specific post.

Hey Joe

think portion size.

You can do it. Let your body know who's boss.

Yesterday:
Breakfast: Cheerios Cereal, 1 cup
Blueberries, fresh, 1/2 c.
Bread, whole wheat, 2 slices
Jam, 1 tbsp
Jif Creamy Peanut Butter, reduced fat, 1 tbsp

Lunch: Turkey breast meat, 4 ounces
Broccoli, cooked, 1/2 c.
Brown Rice, medium grain, 1/2 c.
Yogurt, plain, whole milk, 1 oz.
Monterey Jack Cheese, 1 oz

Dinner: Couscous, 1 cup
Skim Milk, 1 cup
Mixed salad (14 oz)
Asparagus, fresh, 4 spears, medium (5-1/4" to 7" long)
Bluefin Tuna, 4 oz

Snack: Mixed fruit, 1 cup
Stonyfield Farm Fat Free Vanilla, 6 oz

CALORIES 1750 CARBS 252 g FAT 36 g PROTEIN 110 g Sodium 2488

The 1 c. of skim milk and 1. c. mixed fruit were blended together and then tossed into a quart ziploc bag which was placed into a gallon ziploc bag filled 1/3 with ice and maybe a tablespoon of kosher salt. Mix and toss in freezer for an hour, shaking every 15 minutes or so (I left it in for over an hour and ended up letting it thaw a little bit). Et voila! (Somewhat) Instant fruit sorbet!

Next time I'll lean the fruit mixture more heavily in favor of bananas, but it was fantastic and felt very special.

PS I agree with McTag. It's a very tough thing for me to do, too, Joe: portion control. For me it helps a lot to keep the tank about 1/4 - 3/4 full all the time (except, of course, for when I first wake up). It does help me to eat slower and catch the fullness signal so I push the plate away earlier.

Soy cheese comes in flavors - swiss, cheddar, etc. My favorite one is Senora Lupe brand, manchego flavor.

George eats 5 slices of pepperoni pizza.
Tag eats something called taramasalata and humous on bread. (hummus?)

These guys are showing off in different ways.

I had a busy weekend and I weakened.

Saturday: Don't ask.

Sunday (Big Party)
Breakfast
Bowl of cereal and banana

Brunch: the dreaded hotel plates of plenty

salmon rollups
a bit of ham
some eggplant (I love it)
caviar, my dear, my, yes.
some blue cheese
Some mozzeralla and basil
some salad (Caesar?)
a piece of apple pie
a bit of bread pudding
Ice cream Cake ... some of which fell on my new pants

I ran three miles on the hill course when I got home.

I missed a day so

10/199.1/ -1.0

How that is possible is that I would have eaten twice as much but I kept thinking " portion control".

That's not true, I started thinking "portion control" and ended up thinking "Ground Control to Major Tom."

Hey! I hadn't noticed this thead.

Breakfast:

* One bagel, half of it spread with walnut-raisin cream cheese, the other half with peanut butter. (I know, not healty.)
* One croissant.
* Two cups of coffee -- though coffee for me is more like a continuous infusion over the whole day.
