I cannot be left alone with cheeses of any kind.

B:Cheese omelette coffee grapefruit
L: More cheese on a turkey sandwich, Diet Coke
D: Red Hot Pepper Chicken Soup (that I just made up as I went along) Broth, tomato paste, mushrooms, some onion, garlic, the last of the green beans-chopped up-, um, chicken breast already cooked and a big sprinkle of crushed chili peppers. Simmered for about an hour. Threw in a handful of Lo Mien Noodles - they cook in three minutes. Had some wine while waiting. AND SOME MORE CHEESE AND PRETZELS.
Another glass with the meal.

@Joe Nation,
Cheese is a gift from satan.

b-grilled cheese sandwich / tater tots. a bad cheap breakfast because I did no grocery shopping the night before. Had next to no food. Felt nasty all afternoon.

l-eggplant pizza.
1 eggplant cut into long slices. A little bit of olive oil rubbed onto the tops of the slices, a generous amount of italian herbs sprinkled on top and baked for about 25 minutes. Then add just a little cheese to it and let it melt onto the eggplant.
Ugh. good good good good. Ate a whole eggplant that way

s- one apple

d-squash and beet soup 2 small bags of carrots.

tequilla............uuugh....tequillllllllla

I haven't been posting my food happenings here, but there have been some. SheMama's little sentence struck a chord.

I've changed a lot about the way I eat over the last 4 -6 months. Two of the results, my tolerance for large meals has shrunk (har har har, I crack me up) and I can't handle deep fried foods well.

Yesterday there was a noon lunch event at a big Chinese buffet place - almost every single item on the miles of hot tables was deep fried. Trying to put together something healthy was tricky, and I was not successful.

oh yeah. I urped and rumbled all afternoon.

Later in the day, I was meeting Set and the hamburgers to go to dinner and the Theatre. I drove downtown, had a fancy roasted veggie (snow peas/mushroom/asparagus/sweet potato) appetizer for my meal, then made Set walk to the theatre and back with me, while the hamburgers cabbed it.

Ginger ale with my veggies finally made the urps stop, but, man, my stomach told me that I've really been making some changes. The pants that tried to fall off last Saturday gave another clue.

@ehBeth,
I have noticed the same thing lately.

I remember, this time last year, I had dizzy spells, confusion, fluttering in my chest.. you name it.

I have had none of those things for a long time. I sleep well and as I should , I crave water all through out the day like I used to crave sugar.
When I think about what to eat, my mind goes to green stuff.. or.. what new foods to buy in the produce section. Great example , that beet soup mix. Normally I would have never thought to even consider a root veggie or squash before. Soup was always meat and potatoes with tons of salt. Not anymore.

i was sick a couple of days ago and spent only one day laying down and I have to say I felt worse. I cant sit still anymore. walking everywhere is just what -I do- now instead of hopping in the car.

And it feels almost effortless because if I dont do these things, I feel like crap. I dont think about it.. it is just what I do.

( I have jeans on the floor next to yours too. Got tired of roping them up with a belt. Just bought new ones. ) High five lady Smile

@shewolfnm,
5 Very Happy

those poor pants. I couldn't wear them for about 2 years because I was too big, then I was happy for about 5 minutes because they 'fit', then I cursed at them the rest of the day as I had to keep hitching them up, hitch hitch hitch hitch, then my skivvies started to slide with them ... I was pretty grumpy/happy by the time I got home.

@shewolfnm,
I like it when the bod changes to actually preferring good-for-you food. That's what happened to me with sugar, I stopped craving it. I do eat some sugar - there's some in canned tomatoes, I put a little in my coffee if I don't add milk instead, I get some via alcohol, put some in cookies - which I don't make often - though nowhere near what recipes call for, and there was some in that pumpkin panna cotta I made. But mostly I lost my oldie sweet tooth about twenty years ago, in Italy. I call it the italy cure.

And I've lost a lot of my enthusiasm for "greasy" food. On the other hand, I still have the Potato Chip gene, which I am trying to stop feeding. I've improved on salt over the years, mostly getting it from when I add some packaged product (or cheese) although I look for low salt in those. I use a lot more pepper instead. Oh, except for f/g salt and pepper potato chips, which I am not allowed any more of this year...

But anyway, I find the changes in taste preferences to be real and lasting...

Hey.
Joe did not beat me here this morning.
We generally post the same time every morning.
Wake up lazy bumm!

B- steel cut oats with a little butter
l-fake crab meat with 2 tablespoons of miracle whip +1 piece of toast. (comfort food)

s- book club day. Smile 5 donut holes... or was that 10? .. No.. maybe 8... or 3?
A couple small slices of salami ( small meaning smaller then 1.2 my hand and very thin) 4 crackers a handful of baby tomatoes and a whole lot of water.

d-the remainder of my beet soup and some bean + cabbage soup I made.. which turned out .. eh.. pretty damn bad.

No real exercise to speak of. General housecleaning, a few minutes of hooping. I got some of the girls from the book club excited about it so we will meet today and hoop some where. Pretty lazy day yesterday. Quite nice actually.

And.
Wait for it.. here comes my big grin smilie -> Very Happy

My scale reads 205.
205!!! I can not TELL YOU the last time I was that weight.
I was looking at myself in the mirror and my hour glass shape has come back. I look like one of those pin up girls. Broad shoulders, narrow waist, round butt... long legs.. I look like a WOMAN.
Where did this come from??!!

One of the ladies in the book club has not seen me in months.. she was.. shocked.. and eyeballing me like crazy. Even some of the others who have seen me.. at least in the last month or so.. say they see a difference now too. Smile
Oh.. I feel good this morning Smile Its a great f-n day.

Went to a lovely party last. Ate but, well, here's the list:

B:grapefruit, coffee, toast
L: Chicken sandwich, coffee, apple-bran muffin
S: small coffee
D: Hot Peppers stuffed with some kind of ham
Shrimp, mushrooms, little cheese balls.
Martini, dirty.
Orange Chicken w/Rice Salad
(3 kinds of brown rice and cranberries)
Asparagus,
1/2 Martini
and two cupcakes.

I feel lucky to have escaped. No, I really felt pretty controlled which is not like me, or is like me now.

I took several guests home( we were in New Jersey) driving them into the city, dropping the last at 78th and Lex. I took the car back and walked about a mile in the really frigid air. So cold. Got home at about 1:30AM. Slept like a rock.
