@Joe Nation,
I keep one M&M under the riser that holds my puter monitor at work. It's kind of like that cigarette in the glass case that used to be a popular gag gift. I know the M&M is there, I can have that bit of choco if I really want it, so I don't crave it the same way I would if I couldn't get at any choco.

The M&M has been there a few years now.

I'm not sure I could be so disciplined with a potato chip.

@chai2,
I'd rather forego potato chips for months, even a year at a time, than eat the flavored paper ones.. and then have a wild and crazy kettle chip day. (I have about ten months to wait on that one.)

Yesterday -

1 coffee, lf milk

tuna, water, mayo, few chopped bamboo shoots, a tad of chopped pickled jalapeno on 2/3 piece of california sourdough toast

2 med scrambled eggs with another 2/3 piece of toasted sourdough (I have a small toaster)

handful slow roasted almonds (curry, chili, garlic granules, lil salt, lil olive oil)

fish soup --
broth from simmering water with shrimp peelings
small can of diced tomatoes with roasted garlic
water
most of a tin of herring with jalapenos, somewhat sans the soy oil
leftover brown rice (I usually make a lot and freeze in little baggies)
1 diced leftover sauteed shrimp

I liked that, even if no one else ever would..

glass white wine

The first one I ate with a dab of ff sour cream, thinking that was all I would want....I ate the 2nd right out of hand like an apple, and the third with my eyes closed as I nommed the flavor. @mac11,
Savory Bulgur with Vegetables

For the Bulgur:

2 cups chicken broth
1 cup water
1 1/2 cups uncooked bulgur wheat

Bring the water & broth to a boil. Add the bulgur. Simmer 12 minutes. Let sit 10 minutes.

1 tsp olive oil
1 cup zucchini, chopped
1/2 cup carrots, sliced
1/2 cup red bell pepper, chopped
1/4 cup scallions, chopped
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 Tbsp dijon mustard
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup parsley, chopped
cooked bulgur from above

In a large skillet, heat oil. Add vegetables and cook about 6 minutes.

Add broth, mustard, lemon juice, and garlic powder; bring to a boil. Add parsley and bulgur; heat through.
