@jespah,
jespah, 3.4 lb in one week is quite impressive. Did you do anything different?
More protein perhaps? I see you have more eggs and omelets which could be the answer.

@CalamityJane,
Possibly - we actually went out more. But I was also walking more, something that I can't really do when I'm working. Hmm. And, thanks!

@jespah,
Did you read Tara Parker Pope's depressing story in The New York Times Magazine about how hard it is to keep weight off? It's as if evil forces are at work. It's not as simple as eat less and move more for many people. The older I get the more I see this is true.

@CalamityJane,
Thanks CJ, I'm multi-tasking and didn't have a chance to search. It's good article for all those people who preach overweight people just have no will power.

@Green Witch,
I have read it, and yeah, it's quite a read. It's amazing that, at 213 or so pounds, I need as much or less food than someone who weighs a good 50 lbs. less, and it's all because I've dieted. Wacky. I have found, this go-'round, like I have with others, that the first 6 months or so after hitting a certain point, I can really pack pounds back on. Fortunately for me this year, I've slowed that, but right now I am a good, yes, 40 or so lbs. heavier than when I got to my lowest during this bout of dieting. All while I can run farther and faster than I did 10 years ago and live off 1800 or fewer calories in a day which I watch pretty religiously.

@Green Witch,
I also thought it's a good article, perhaps due to the writer's own struggle with weight loss. Looking at her family history, her sisters struggle and the obvious hereditary/genetic metabolism rate, it's much more difficult to maintain a certain weight - more so than losing it in the first place.
