Not to change the subject, but I worship Lynn Swann like a God.
Seriously.
I hesitate to say this, but I think I'm centrist-left. The outer fringes of both liberalism and conservatism seem absurd -- why don't people see that either far fringe is proposing ridiculous options?
Among the problems is that liberals refuse to believe that a conservative viewpoint could ever be good, and the same can be said for conservatives.
As a country we are far too involved in demonizing each other and not involved enough in thinking -- really thinking -- about the issues. Both conservatives and liberals collect a bunch of sound bites and run with them, to the detriment of honest debate and serious discussion.
And I think conservatives and liberals define words differently, adding to the confusion. When a conservative says "family values" a liberal hears "patriarch-controlled, low valuation of women (except as housekeepers and childbearers), military-style discipline, no opinions allowed except that of the man of the house, the ruin of American society."
When a liberal says "family values" a conservative hears "no values, no morals, everybody does what they want, nobody values tradition, the ruin of American society."
I find that I, personally, am better off when Democrats are in power. So I generally tend to vote that way (especially after this last Bush, who has been a big disappointment, even for a Horrible Demon Republican), but I try to listen to anyone who isn't screaming such absurd rhetoric that I can't find a way to take it seriously.
Finn,
The only way you could disprove Cyclo with the pictures you have posted so far is if there are about 400 Conservatives in the US. Posting pictures from the 5% doesn't really disprove his claim.

The only part of this post I disagree with is this part...
Quote:I find that I, personally, am better off when Democrats are in power.
I am better off when repubs are in power.

Not even in defense can ya find a bunch of good-looking people.

OK Parados you got me. I can't disprove Cyclo's contention that 95% of conservatives are fat whites with pictures. Geez, I thought I could sneak it by everyone but I didn't count on razor-sharp Parados. Damn!
BTW - Did you ever notice that 95% of all liberals have abnormally small heads?

Don't tell me you're one of those New Yorkers who rooted for the Steelers in their hey day because the NY teams sucked.
Would you have voted for him?

Are you going to post pictures to prove that?

As soon as you post the pics of ALL of the 95% of conservatives to prove your point.
so now we're judging parties by looks?

I was merely judging their pale, porcine propensities. I'm sure they are nice people. Some of them.

in other words, judging looks... or stereotypes, rather.

I just find it to be an interesting coincidence.

cyclop, you're a smart guy. i think you can see through that yourself.
Cyclo may be suffering a case of "flyover jerkiness"
