A couple of photos have been posted on the gathering thread - I'll add some, too, focused however on only two buildings: a secular and a church.

Since the PDiddles had stayed there and thus know how beautiful it was .... no, not the cathedral but the La Fonda Hotel:

Quote:
La Fonda is a Santa Fe landmark, just steps away from history and art museums, a variety of galleries and shops, historic churches and, of course, the Plaza. The inn's pueblo-style architecture features thick wood beams, latilla ceilings and carved corbels. Special touches such as hand-crafted chandeliers, tin and copper lighting fixtures and colorful tiles add character and charm. Beautiful hand-carved and hand-painted furniture and displays by local artists create a rich ambience. La Fonda has always been a local gathering spot and a hub of activity. World War II journalist Ernie Pyle wrote, "You could go there any time of day and see a few artists in the barÂ…a goateed gentleman from Austria or a maharajah from India or a New York brokerÂ… You never met anyone anywhere except at La Fonda."
Historic Hotels of America

Here to be seen at the end of the block:

As some might know and/or remember - I'm quite interested in art (history) as well as I like the French Romanesque churches.

And the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi was finished in 1884 in the neo-Romanesque style ...

What would be a St. Francis church without a statue of St. Francis ... and a Hispanic without St. Mary ...

Quote:
The adjoining Conquistadora Chapel is all that remains of the second Church. Built in 1714, this tiny Chapel houses La Conquistadora, the oldest Madonna in the United States brought by Franciscan Friars in 1625.

The Archdiocese is also the home of the Loretto Chapel--which contains an ascending spiral staircase--the building of which the Sisters of Loretto consider to be a miracle due to the unusual construction of the staircase.

Both were closed that day for the public.

So some different views ...

Who needs National Geographic Magazine when we've got Walter?

Even better. Thanks, W. Smile

This 'Inn and Spa at Loretto" (built on the grounds of the former historic Loretto Academy, a Catholic girls' school) actually is has an interesting archtecture - at least for my European eyes
