Nah, that will be Obama's tactic. All McCain has to do is keep his campaiagn about his platform. Obama can't decide which oar to keep in the water, his left or his right. He will pander himself right out of the contest.
And you're saying those voting in today's polls don't know how they will vote in November?
RCP Average

Franklin & Marshall 06/16 - 06/22 1501 RV 42 36 Obama +6.0
All of the polls show Obama ahead of McCain.
Not only that, McCain is not succeeding in differentiating himself from Bush in the eyes of voters. More then anything else this is going to kill his candidacy.

Current polls are meaningless. Look at the polls from 5 months ago for the Democratic primary and look at the results...
Meaningless.

Who are you trying to convince?
It's always better to be ahead then behind.

McG doesn't need to be convinced; he's already bought the whole kitten kaboodle.

I'm sure that you'd profess the same if the polls were reversed.

Of coarse he would, but hypocrite comes to mind over anything he might say in his defense.
I have been consistent in my opinion of polls. They give the talking heads something to discuss, people on internet forums to brag/complain about but really serve no other purpose.
Live by the poll, die by the poll.

Having something to brag or complain about is a pretty good purpose. Also, having something with numbers is a good thing for the talking heads. Without the numbers the game would be far worse.

For McCain and Obama, who is dying and living is obvious.

Obama isn't polling well with moderates, what is the result?
Complaints from his core. You know them, the ones bitching about his move to the middle, but making excuses for it...

Can you provide us with some numbers or percentages who are "bitching about his move to the middle?" The funny thing is Bill Clinton won by moving towards the middle.
He isn't polling well with moderates?
In which poll?

The problem liberals have is they can not debate issues and policies. So they resort to "funny videos" and polls that are in their favor.
This is why the Democratic controlled Congress is polling so poorly since they have accomplished NOTHING since taking control. All talk, no action.

Yet, there are other polls saying Democrats will retain control of Congress.
So how do you reconcile these so called facts? You do not.
woiyo, I'm sure you were trying to make a point by claiming that liberals are unable to debate issues and policies and resort to "polls that are in their favor" instead - and then following up that argument by resorting to a poll in your favor.
I'm just not sure what that point is. Are you trying to tell us that you're a liberal?

The point should be obvious to any rational observer. Polls are not to be relied upon, except for the poll in November.

So you are not relying on the poll you were citing? Maybe people are really happy with Democratic controlled Congress?

I do not see how "people" can be happy with the performance of the current Congress. I do not need a poll to tell me what should be obvious to any objective American.

Then why did you feel like you needed to cite a poll that merely tells you what "should be obvious"?
You don't just cite polls when you agree with them, do you?
The republicans have misplaced what our "terrorism" is by creating a fear that is so low on the totem pole, it shouldn't even be an issue. Rather, the real terrorism is the loss of jobs, loss of homes, loss of health care insurance, higher cost of fuel and food, and an economic future that bodes badly for most middle-class and poor families.
While the world crumbles around us, the republicans continue to believe al Qaida is the threat to our security; it's Bush.
