Dean will be on ABC, NBC, and CBS tomorrow morning, reacting to Bush's remarks on Iraq. Watch:

ABC Good Morning America
between 7:00 & 7:30 am (Probably starting around 7:05 am)

CBS Early Edition
between 7:00 am & 7:30 am (Probably starting around 7:05 am)

NBC Today Show
between 7:00 am & 7:30 am (Probably around 7:10 am)
Wake up early for Dean -- and, of course, email your friends to get them to watch!

From the Dean blog,

comments on Dean's appearance on the three morning shows

today rebutting White House spokesperson/spinner Condi

Rice:

**************

"The honesty of Howard Dean is so refreshing.

Enough said !"

**************

"For those who missed him, Gov. Dean was awesome on the

morning shows. Refuted this whole "flip-flop" thing his

opponents are feeding to the press. He made us all proud,

IMHO."

***************

"I watched the live interview on the Today show, and Dr.

Dean was grat.
Dr. Rice on the other hand wanted to make me puke!!
I was so glad to hear Dean remind everyone that Iraq and

Al Qaeda were not connected before March of this year. To

remind people that Saddam was not part of the Sept.

attacks of two years ago!
Dr. Dean a man of truth!! "

****************

"I saw Governor Dean on The Today Show this morning

looking appropriately serious and passing some very heavy

criticism of Bush, over some interruption from Matt L.

Points were Bush has presented us with more false

impressions, there are no WMD, there is no no imminent

threat, quagmire, this is costing as much money as

Vietnam, no planning by Bush, who is now asking favors of

the UN that he insulted.

Good job."

******************

"Now that the awful truth has fully dawned -- that the

Iraq war is going to consume enormous resources for the

foreseeable future -- Dean is going to be repeatedly

asked, as he was this morning, "What would YOU do as

president?" The truth is that he will not be able to do

much more than try to internationalize the situation -- as

Bush is being forced to do right now. But if he continues

to get sucked into talking about how many troops the US

will need or not need, he will be on very shaky ground.

The better response is this:
"What I can do as president is restore the international

cooperation that Bush has destroyed by pursuing a reckless

unilateral course. We had tremendous international support

after 9/11. Now we have none. The only way to solve the

problems caused by this administration's reckless use of

force is by diplomacy that respects the opinions and

rights of all peoples. The current president has shown no

respect for our allies and is not incapable of getting

their cooperation. I will change that dynamic."

*********************

"Gov. Dean was a hit today on Good Morning America. It is

quite telling that the networks didn't ask the opinion of

any of the other candidates, not even Shrub's teacup

poodle #2, Joe LIEberbush. And as for the Shrub, he is

crapping his pants. He's going to have to now go hat in

hand to the UN, and beg forgiveness from our friends in

"Old Europe".

Go Dean!"

*********************

"Caught Dean on TV this morning... flipping between all 3

channels. It was nice to see that he responded directly to

the questions asked, instead of just hitting each station

with a canned message. He still looks a little stiff -

maybe I'm just not used to seeing him in a jacket....

needs to smile more and thank the hosts for being on when

introduced... Luckily the race is long and the more tv

spots and debates he does the better he will get."

********************

"Heads up! They're going to show an interview with Dr.

Dean during the 11:00 hour on MSNBC.

I thought he really showed gravitas on the earlier

interviews this morning."

********************

"I saw Dr Dean on the Today show this morning, he was

great. Condi was pathetic, she had the nerve to say when

asked about the WMD questions that we all needed to

remember that Sadam was the real weapon/threat to the U.S.

and we had taken care of that !!!! Disgusting as usual."

*********************

"Caught bits of both ABC and NBC.
Doctor was reasonable and level-headed, and he presented a

clear alternative. Also, did a nice job on NBC of linking

the admin's tax cuts to the ultimate cost of the war and

the resulting increase in people's property taxes, et

cetera. What's nice is the linking of these things

together. Dean can articulate it well. Amazing that the

networks callled on him as the voice of the opposition.

This campaign is really getting somewhere."

********************

"I saw the good Doctor on NBC and ABC this morning. GREAT

JOB, Gov. Keep it up. You are speaking the mind of most

Americans; I am convinced of it. People have just not been

able to find a leader until now who would point out the

Emporer has no clothes.

One thing that was vital to Dean's message was that Saddam

was contained for 12 years by our fly overs and that Bin

Ladin's cult was not in Iraq until Saddam fell. Too many

Americans believe the lie that Saddam was part of the

September 11 attack. That lie needs to be put to rest. Too

many people support Bush because they link Saddam to

September 11."

Jorge -- I caught about 8 minutes of Rush Limbaugh today while driving into town. For the first time I really laughed and enjoyed myself listening to him (he's usually the pits). Apparently Deanies are calling him, are extremely polite and deferential, and are raising issues to discuss with him. Rush is very impressed, says this is a really organized campaign and he admires that and their manners. (He's so incredibly impolite himself that I was surprised he knew it when he saw it, AND admired it...)

Then he played an amalgam of old sixties songs which had been changed to be about Dean and were made to sound like those TV commercials for CD's of old music ("Just call the number on your screen and for only $19.95.... and if you call now you'll also receive...") Frankly, it was extremely amusing, the whole thing.

Tartarin,

That's interesting.

I still agree with Al Franken though...
that, 'Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot!'

Hi unknown_man!

Welcome to A2K. I think you're going to like it here.

It's great that you wear a Dean pin or button. all that visibility helps him.

Try:

I also would also suggest that you visit the Dean blog, if you haven't already.
I spend a lot of time there reading the comments and occasionally posting one of my own.

What's up in 'My other life'

Well, I'm adding a little to Dean's numbers.
I signed up two people yesterday and I have one lined up for tomorrow.

Dean has 368,805 people signed up to support his campaign and a goal of 450,000 by Sept. 30th.

We're gonna make it darn it...if I have to sign up the remaining 81,195 people myself!

Going to a fund raiser in Rehoboth Mass. Saturday.
We will have a conference call w. Gov. Dean

"Another Dean Supporter'

Today I drove up to Mass. to take my 86 year old mother to lunch and shopping. She likes Mickey D's so that's where we went. After lunch she happily filled out a Dean campaign enrollment card which I mailed later.

Mom has watched both debates and likes Dean a lot. She laughed heartily when I told her the story of Sally Baron who called Bush a whistle-ass. "Well, that's what he is!" said Mom.
As we left Mickey D's on our way to WalMart (that OTHER icon of American popular culture) a trucker In the parking lot (seeing my Dean tee-shirt) hollered, "Howard Dean, alright!" giving a thumbs up.

Mom had a nice day except for one thing -- she was upset when she realized she had left her Dean button at home.

Tartarin, I fixed your link as it had several problems with it. First it was using the IP address of teh site instead of the domain (this can cause error in the future as IPs chage) but it also had a session ID.

A session ID is a security risk for you as it opens a slight chance of your account being hijacked through a link.

If you see:

&sid=1e754.........

Please remove it as it presents a danger to the security of your account (though a remote one).

One more thing, are you accessing Able2Know through the IP? Because that would cause you a host of other problems (remember teh hotlink image? That's one that would be caused by this).

How does one know if one is acessing through an IP?

The address will be numbers instead of the domain.

The CURRENT address (IP) of the Able2Know domain is: http://66.98.158.38/~a2kname/

If you click you will notice you are not logged in (because you have a cookie for Able2know, not some IP). That's just one of many ways that accessing the site by IP will cause you problems.

Oops, Craven, that's new to me. I, of course, copied from the address line of the forum in question. One should stop after the t= number?

Well it depends. I should probably explain all the variables. I'll try to find time to do so tonight. But simply put avoid anything that comes after sid (session ID).

But more importantly (as it will help me resolve the hotlinking issue) do you ahve the IP address bookmarked?

Because you posted a link that started with: http://66.98.158.38/~a2kname/

It should be accessed by the domain instead (and the hotlinking issues you saw could ahve been caused by this, if you were trying to access the images under the IP address they would have been blocked).

Haven't a clue, Craven. I was simply pointing the way (for Jorge) to an A2K forum of interest. As you can see, above, it didn't start with //66.98 but with ///www.able2know.

On the Overpass

Another Friday, another day on the overpass waving Dean signs at commuters.
we continue to get lots of enthusiastic waves and beeps and we continue to have friendly pedestrians walking by, stop and wish us well, express their support for Governor Dean etc.

At 9:30 Lance and I attended a meeting in
a nearby nursing home. We are nearing completion of our plan for a traveling Dean Show that we'll take to R.I. nursing homes.
