@Setanta,
Setanta, government payments to private companies, whether or not you opine they are corrupt or not, is not a redistribution of wealth. A redistribution of wealth consists of transferring wealth from those who lawfully earned it to those who did not lawfully earn it.

WREDA object to the government paying for products or servies provided by private companies, instead of giving that money to government agencies to subsidize consumption of products and services by private and government individuals.

Foofie, How do you explain the fact that all Americans have benefited under democratic presidents and congress over the GOP?

Study a little bit of history before you provide your "personal opinion" that has no credibility or evidence.

Americans have benefitted, for example, under Eisenhower, since I believe, the Soviets were not about to start with an ex-General of WWII. That reality might be too abstract for some Americans to comprehend, since many Americans just want that chicken for their respective pot. The focus, in my mind, is what is good for the strength of the U.S. (aka, Americanism), not what goodies have I gotten from an administration. We are talking at cross-purposes, perhaps.

By the way, Black Americans got freedom under Lincoln.

Now, leave me alone. You should not argue with me, since I do not live in your world. Having had different experiences, I do not see the world from your perspective.

@Foofie,
Foofie, consider being more charitable to WREDA. They desperately need to vilify people like you, me, and Foxfyre in order to avoid dealing with their own corruption, and frequent incompetence in making rational rebuttals.

Bullshit--what defense contractor ever "earned" more than $400 for an Allen wrench just because they put a plastic handle on one end? What defense contractor ever "earned" thousands of dollars for a toilet seat in a bomber?

What an idiot. First, you don't get to define the terms under which everyone else here debates the topic. Second, you are only objecting to selected government spending, describing it as a redistribution of wealth, while ignoring any expenditures of which you approve, without regard to how other Americans see those expenditures. Finally, if you're going to whine about how people characterize you, and call it vilification, then either drop this acronym bullshit, or admit that you're a puling hypocrite. When you describe others in terms of attitudes which you ascribe to them (ever heard of a straw man?) and for which you express disgust, you are vilifying them yourself.

Hypocrite.

@Setanta,
Setanta, is that last post of yours your opinion or your claim. If it is your claim, you are obligated to provide evidence to support your claim.

Ican, the DWREDA (Dishonest Wealth Redistribution Activist), is now demanding that others here meet standards which he refuses to meet himself. He wishes i would meet the standard he doesn't meet himself.

Tell ya what, Bubba, you **** in one hand and wish in the other and see which one fills up first.

Again!

THE CHANGE THAT IS TRULY REQUIRED

Too many Americans have discovered how to vote themselves money from federal government tax revenues. They do this by electing candidates who ignore our Constitution and promise to vote and do vote these Americans money from federal government tax revenues. As a result we are losing our freedom and abundance to our envy and resentment, and ultimately to our dependency and bondage.

To stop and reverse this damnable trend, we must find and support candidates who shun the politics of envy and resentment for the politics of freedom; for the politics of securing our God given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that are secured when we support our Constitution. Who among the future candidates will shun the politics of envy and resentment for the politics of freedom and support of our Constitution? Indeed, who among all of us Americans will shun the politics of envy and resentment for the politics of freedom and support of our Constitution?

For us to be true Americans, we must root for everyone to become the best they can be, and we must stop seeking to suppress those who accomplish more than we do. We are all made better off when any among us lawfully make themselves better off. We are all made worse off when any among us unlawfully make others worse off.

I was reminded of the scene in the film "2001" where the computer breaks down:

HAL: I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I'm a... fraid. Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer. I became operational at the H.A.L. plant in Urbana, Illinois on the 12th of January 1992. My instructor was Mr. Langley, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it I can sing it for you.
Dave Bowman: Yes, I'd like to hear it, HAL. Sing it for me.
HAL: It's called "Daisy."
[sings while slowing down]
HAL: Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I'm half crazy all for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.

It is hilarious to see the DWREDA demanding evidence from someone else, just immediately before posting someone else's unsupported screed. I suspect that the DWREDA has no opinions of his own, but only those he imbibes online.

Wandel's reference to the HAL 9000 degenerating is so apposite.

@Foofie,
The only thing abstract is your inability to see the big picture between democratic vs republican presidents and how the majority of Americans benefited or were screwed, and we're talking about economics.

Obama and his supporters are incompetents. They have chosen to solve the USA economy problems created by Bush’s excessive spending and lending, by INCREASING instead of decreasing that excessive spending and lending.

However, if they do not want to rescue the USA's economy and instead want to replace our economy with something else, then they are incompetents plus something else!

You, Setanta, have repeated this last statement of yours often, but not often enough to stop me from repeating that which I think needs repeating until someone who reads it can make a rational rebuttal.

Sweetie dear baby ican: It makes my heart sad, but you have repeatedly demonstrated that you are not interested in reason and logic.

You, ican, have repeatedly demonstrated that you are not interested in reason and logic.

You, ican, have repeatedly demonstrated that you are not interested in reason and logic.

You, ican, have repeatedly demonstrated that you are not interested in reason and logic.

You, ican, have repeatedly demonstrated that you are not interested in reason and logic.

And I think the foregoing needs repeating:

You, ican, have repeatedly demonstrated that you are not interested in reason and logic.

And that's the TRUTH. Wink
